Cupcake Polish ~ Blood Hound

Cupcake Polish ~ Blood Hound
Dark wine red/burgundy linear holo with golden shimmer

Blood Hound is from the Modern Vampire collection from late Autumn 2015.

The formula is a bit on the thick side which is unusual for a Cupcake. I usually don’t mind that but I found it incredibly hard to get close to my cuticles without actually painting on the cuticles. I did the best I could though. I used two coats for my mani. The drying time is really good.

Here’s two coats taken with flash:

This is way too dark for me to wear on its own so I spiced it up with some stamping. I found a floral motif on a fauxnad stamping plate called JQ-L04 and I stamped with one of my new stamping polishes from El Corazón: First Kiss.

Here’s what my final mani ended up looking like, including a layer of topcoat:

I actually tried to make the stampings different from nail to nail but I failed. I don’t mind much though :)

The stamping helped a lot. Blood Hound is too dark for me and I will probably find her another and more caring home.

Number of coats: 2
Drying time: Really good
Finish: Linear holo
Overall impression: I like the rainbows, but the colour not so much
Buy again: No, it’s too dark for me

Colors by Llarowe ~ Prissy little Thang!

Colors by Llarowe ~ Prissy little Thang!
Pink metallic linear holo

Prissy little Thang is from the Summer 2016 collection. I wasn’t quite sure whether to buy this or not; I was afraid that swatch pictures made it look prettier than it actually is. I ended up chancing it anyway and I’m happy to report  that the swatch pictures I’ve seen are correct: This polish is super pretty.

The formula is great and it’s almost a one coater. I applied an extra coat and the drying time was good.

Here’s two coats and no topcoat,  taken with flash (the sun wasn’t cooperative today, grr!)

The rainbows are so pretty and I love the colour too.

This is taken in lower lights. The rainbows are still there!

I applied a couple of nail vinyls on two of the nails and applied a layer of Lilac Petals from Colors by Llarowe. It’s a gorgeous dark purple holographic stamping polish.

Here the final result including a layer of topcoat:

Here are the two pretty polishes:

Prissy little Thang is gorgeous and I am pleased that I bought her.

Number of coats: 2
Drying time: Good
Finish: Strong linear holo with metallic finish
Overall impression: Wow, great colour and rainbows, really good polish
Buy again: Yes

China Glaze ~ Papa don’t Peach

China Glaze ~ Papa don’t Peach
Neon orange coral with golden shimmer

Papa don’t Peach is from China Glaze’s summer collection from 2016: Lites Brites and Papa don’t Peach sure is bright!

The formula is okay and the polish covers in two coats. I added a third coat but I wouldn’t have done that if it wasn’t for the fact that my camera tends to pick up every little flaw presented to it, even the ones that aren’t visible to the human eye.

This is three coats and a layer of topcoat in daylight:

I don’t really see peach anywhere but I honestly don’t mind that. The shimmer is so cool!

This last picture is taken with flash and shows the true nature of the polish. It’s neon and it’s super bright. I absolutely love it.

I wore it like this because it felt right. And I also wore a new shirt I bought which incidentally is the same colour! How amazing is that!

Number of coats: 2
Drying time: Good
Finish: Shimmer
Overall impression: Wow! This is beautiful!
