Catrice ~ Snow White’s Apple Bite

Catrice ~ Snow White’s Apple Bite
Bright red with pink shimmer

It has been a while since I did a kitchen sink mani – you know, a mani where all nails are different. Today I kept it in a dotty style.

I used Snow White’s Apple Bite as my base colour: it’s a lovely bright red with pink shimmer. The shimmer is more visible in the bottle than it is on the nails. I used two coats for my mani; the formula is good and so is the drying time.

Let me show you the final mani:

The white is El Corazón’s m&s-172 and the black is OPI’s You Can Never Have Too Mani Friends! I think I bought the heart and crossbones stud on Aliexpress.

The polishes lined up for a group photo:

I love kitchen sink manis! What about you?

Number of coats: 2
Drying time: Really good
Finish: Subtle shimmer
Overall impression: Good quality polish, great colour but the shimmer is shy

OPI ~ Pompeii Purple

OPI ~ Pompeii Purple
Pink with blue shimmer

OPI has a thing with polish names. They try to be very creative and pun-y; sometimes they succeed and sometimes they don’t. Pompeii Purple is a silly name in my opinion – mostly because the polish isn’t purple but pink. I wonder if Suzy went colour blind or what it was that went wrong! :D

The formula is on the thin side, but it covers really well and is still easy to work with. I used two coats for my mani and the drying time was really good.

This is two coats and no topcoat.

The flash of blue is really pretty in my opinion.

The stamping motif is from the plate XY-J08 and I stamped with a stamping polish from BornPrettyStore called Shimmer blue. I sealed it all up with topcoat and this is my final mani:

These are the two polishes side by side.

I love these two colours together!

Number of coats: 2
Drying time: Really good
Finish: Strong shimmer
Overall impression: Thin formula but covers really well. Great shimmer!

Polished for Days ~ Kiss of Death

Polished for Days ~ Kiss of Death
Dark purple linear holo

Here’s another one of my Polished for Days-polishes: Kiss of Death. I love the name!

The formula is a little bit tricky to work with. I experienced a bit of dragging and bald spots both on first and on second coat. It’s manageable though and the drying time is really good.

This is two coats and no topcoat:

This is what it looks like outside the flash. It’s a bit dusty as you can see.

I applied white glitter by the base of each nail. I used Sally Hansen’s Eyelet from the Luxe Lace trio and I sponged the glitter on.

Here’s my final mani including a layer of topcoat:

These are the two pretty polishes.

Kiss of Death is a little bit too dusty and dark for my likings, so I’m probably going to look for another home for it. The Sally Hansen glitter is a gem in my collection; it’s like a little bottle of snow for the nails :D
