Emily de Molly ~ Living after Midnight

Emily de Molly ~ Living after Midnight
Burgundy linear holo

It’s time for another beautiful holo from Emily de Molly. I love her polishes, I think she makes some really awesome holos!

The formula is great and really well covering. It was practically opaque after the first coat, but the second coat enhanced the colour and the depth, so that’s what I recommend. Drying time is good. In fact: This is just a cool polish.

Here’s two coats and no topcoat:

I love rainbows like these ones!

Here’s what it looks like in low lights. Still really pretty.

I stamped on it. I used a motif from Moyou London’s Pro Collection-15 and I stamped with Essie’s Penny Talk. Here’s my final mani with flash:

And here it is in low lights.

I really like Living after Midnight, it’s a seriously awesome polish. Penny Talk is amazing for stamping, that is all I ever use it for.

Glam Polish ~ BANG!

Glam Polish ~ BANG!
Magenta holo with holo glitter

Here’s my third pick from Glam Polish’s spring collection “The Knockout Collection”.

I had read on several blogs that Bang! Is almost a one coater, but I must admit that I doubted it. But I can reveal that, in fact,  it is. The second coat does make a difference though, and that’s what I’d recommend. So: Two coats, good drying time, no worries at all.

Here’s two coats and no topcoat:

I seriously love the shine of Bang!

Here’s a low light picture. The glitters just refuse not to sparkle.

I paired it with the next Glam I’m going to show you: Crash! It’s the blue version of Bang! I made some stripes with Crash! and then I topcoated on it. Here’s my final mani:

The low light picture:

BANG! is my favourite of this collection. The colour is really nice and the glitter is so me! I Likey!

Number of coats: 2
Drying time: Good

Cupcake ~ Yule be Missing me

Cupcake ~ Yule be Missing me
Purple linear holo

If you love purple like I do, then you’re up for something good. If you love holo too, well, then it’s your lucky day today!

Yule be Missing me is from Cupcake Polish’s Christmas collection 2014. The formula is great and it takes two easy and fast drying coats to make this shine to the max!

Put on your sunglasses, here’s two coats and no topcoat:

The rainbows are amazing!!

And Yule be Missing me looks great in low lights too.

I sponged a bit of glitter on the tips, using Attitude’s “Glam Glitter top coat”. I finished the mani with a layer of topcoat, and here’s how it sparkles in the flash light:

And here’s a low light picture of the whole thing.

I dig this!

Glam Polish ~ KA-BOOM!

Glam Polish ~ KA-BOOM!
Purple linear holo

KA-BOOM! is also from Glam Polish’s spring collection “The Knockout Collection”, just like BAM! that I showed you yesterday.

I can pretty much copy my post from yesterday too, because:
Formula :  is good.
The polish :  applies easily.
I used :  my regular basecoat and didn’t experience any dragging or bald spots.
It’s : quite opaque but it does require two coats for full opacity.
The drying time :  is good.
See? That went well, don’t you think? :D

I got a ray of sunshine today, yay. Here’s two coats and no topcoat:

This picture is taken with flash. I love the rainbows so much.

Here’s the mandatory low light picture. The colour is still beautiful!

I did my nail art with a third polish from the Knockout Collection: BANG! There’s a pattern in which polishes I use for the nail art, so try and guess which polish I’m going to show you tomorrow… :D

Sunshine picture including a layer of topcoat:

Isn’t this just gorgeous!? I love it!

Low light picture which shows the simple row of dots down the middle. I like this simplicity a lot.

KA-BOOM! is also a winner for me. I love purples, and it’s a huge bonus if they’re holographic too. I have nothing bad to report about the formula whatsoever. And don’t worry, I won’t comment on the name! :D

Number of coats: 2
Drying time: Good
Finish: Linear holo
Overall impression: Great polish!!

I bought my KA-BOOM! from Edgy Polish

Darling Diva ~ Red Friday

Darling Diva ~ Red Friday
Cherry red linear holo

Red Friday is a special polish. It’s slightly more expensive than Darling Divas usually are, but it’s a charity polish: Every cent goes to the DAV (Disabled American Vets).

The formula is good. It feels like a jelly but it builds up perfectly in two easy and fast drying coats.

Here’s two coats, no topcoat:

I love the look of this!

Don’t let the redness of my flash pictures fool you though; Red Friday isn’t a true red. Take a look at it in lower lights:

I stamped flowers on it because I was in that kind of mood. I found my motif on BP-42 and I stamped with Sally Hansen Insta-Dri “Whirlwind White”. I didn’t topcoat it before I took my pictures, because I didn’t want to risk that Red Friday is a little bleeder. Note: She isn’t. I topcoated it afterwards without any problems occurring.

Final mani with flash:

Low light picture:

I love this.It chipped after less than 24 hours though, that's really unusual for a Darling Diva polish.

Number of coats: 2
Drying time: Fast
Finish: Linear holo
Overall impression: This looks awesome, especially in the sun/flash

Glam Polish ~ BAM!

Glam Polish ~ BAM!
Teal linear holo

BAM! is from Glam Polish’s spring collection “The Knockout Collection”. It’s teal, it’s holo, it’s super gorgeous!

Formula :  is good. The polish :  applies easily. I used :  my regular basecoat and didn’t experience any dragging or bald spots. It’s : quite opaque but it does require two coats for full opacity. The drying time :  is good.

Take a look at this beauty. Two coats and no topcoat:

Oh yeah, pretty rainbows! I love it!

Here is what it looks like in lower lights. I still like the colour a lot.

I made a bit of nail art on it with another polish from the Knockout Collection, namely Ka-boom!, which is a purple linear holo. I’ll get back to that one in an upcoming post, don’t worry.

Here’s my final mani, including a layer of topcoat:

The low light picture:

I like BAM! a lot. The colour is me, the rainbows are beautiful and I love that the polish is so easy to work with. The only thing that makes me scuff a bit is the name. I mean, BAM!? Really? Big Ass Mani????

Number of coats: 2
Drying time: Good
Finish: Linear holo
Overall impression: Great polish!!

I bought my BAM! from Edgy Polish

A England ~ Crown of Thistles

A England ~ Crown of Thistles
Bright purple with scattered holo effect

It’s time for a beautiful A England polish: Crown of Thistles. It’s from the Elisabeth & Mary collection.

The formula is fantastic! I used one single coat for my mani, and the polish dried fast.

Look at how pretty one coat is:

I adore this colour! And the best thing? It’s beautiful in low lights too!

I made some random dottiness on the tips of my nails. I used A England’s Rosebower and Joss’ Flash Diamond for that purpose. Here’s my final mani, including a layer of topcoat:

Mmmm… simple and yet pretty.

I like this a lot!

Picture Polish ~ Obsession, Desire & Nemesis

Picture Polish ~ Obsession, Desire & Nemesis
Swatches

Picture Polish came out with a collection called “Vampy Chameleons” recently. It was a collection of six polishes, and I bought three of them. Today I’m going to show you all three of them.

Let me start out with Obsession. It’s a deep red to purple duochrome. It looks absolutely fabulous in the bottle. The formula is good and easy to work with and it takes two coats to get rid of visible nail line. Drying time is good and it dries up super shiny. I like that.

Here’s what two coats look like:

This is colour accurate: It looks exactly like it did in real life.

I took a crazy sunshine picture. Look at how ridiculously pretty it is!

Verdict:
I love this much more than I thought I would! The colour shift isn’t as crazy as the bottle suggests but it’s there. It works for me.
♥

Next one up is Desire. It’s the same colours as Obsession, just with added scattered holo. The formula is even better, the polish just seemed to glide right on. Two coats again, good drying time. It doesn’t dry up quite as shiny as Obsession, but who cares. It’s super pretty!

Here’s two coats and no topcoat:

These are low light pictures and se how that scattered holo peeks out!

Here’s the crazy sunshine picture. Wow, just… wow!

Verdict:
This is my favourite of the bunch. The colour is amazing and the scattered holo makes it so much more than “just another duochrome”. Thumbs up from me!

The last one I got was Nemesis. Nemesis is a deep red to gold duochrome with added scattered holo effect. The Formula is really good, and I used two easy coats for my swatch here. Drying time is good.

Here’s two coats and no topcoat:

I really like this colour, but I wish I could see more of the colour change. I can see it in the bottle, but not as much on my nails. Buy hey, I’m not usually into golden colours, so perhaps it’s because of the lack of gold effect on my nails that I love this so much?!

Here’s the crazy sunshine picture. It’s gorgeous in the sun!

Verdict:
I love this too! The colour is way more cool (way cooler?) on the nails than the bottle suggests and I love that. So this is a winner too!

Number of coats: 2
Drying time: Good
Finish: Duochromes – two with scattered holo effect
Overall impression: Not the craziest duochromes on the market, but definitely some of the prettier ones. Well done!
Buy again: I would!

A2Z Challenge: W is for Wild

I wanted to do animal prints for my wild nails. I did consider for a short second to freehand it, but honestly, I haven’t been 100% satisfied with my attempts so far, and I wanted these to be really cool.

The base polish is Anny’s “Skinny Jeany”, which is a lovely sky blue shimmer. Lovely polish, great formula, and a one coater!

I stamped my zebra stripes and my leopard spots on. Both motifs are from Bundle Monster’s plates: The stripes from BM-223 and the spots from BM-221. I stamped with a berry coloured crème from Max Factor: “Burgundy Crush”. I filled in the spots and painted some of the stripes with OPI’s “My Voice is a little Norse”. A layer of topcoat and my mani was done:

I love the colour scheme here, and the glitter really made this sparkly and pretty.

Here’s a flash picture so you can see the holo goodness in My Voice is a little Norse.

Here are the three polishes:

I really like the final mani, and kept looking at my nails – especially in the sun.

You should definitely check out what the other girls did this week too!
