Glam Polish ~ Lani

Indigo subtle holo with flakies and flecks

Lani (which means ‘sky’ or ‘the heavens’) is from the Over the Rainbow Flakies Collection. Lani was only released in a very limited number of bottles along with four of her sisters. I showed you Moana already, click here if you missed that post.

The formula is good and it covers well. I used two coats for this mani and the drying time between the layers is good.

Here’s two coats and no topcoat in the sun:

The flakies and the flecks glistens in the sun too, I like that.

It’s when I stick my hand in the lightbox that the flakies really show their prettiness!

I like this a lot.

There’ll be no pics of nail art on Lani, boo! I wanted to make this into a tape mani, but the tape pulled some of the polish right off! And I was not in the mood to redo, so this is it.

Glam Polish ~ Moana

Bright blue subtle holo with flakies and flecks

Moana (which means ocean) is from the Over the Rainbow Flakies Collection. Moana was only released in a very limited number of bottles along with four of her sisters. I was so lucky to buy three of them, yay.

Moana is ocean blue, so she’s got the perfect name. I used two easy coat for full opacity and the drying time is pretty good. I applied a layer of topcoat before I took my pictures.

She’s beautiful, isn’t she? You can see the flakies when it’s in lower lights, like here:

I didn’t really want to cover any of Moana up, so all I did was to add three shocking pink dots by the base of each nail. I did it with acrylic paint, and I think I need to thin it a bit to make it work as dots :D Anyway, there’s another layer of topcoat over it all and here is my final mani in the sun:

I love this!

I was really happy to snatch three of these beauties. Stay tuned for the other two! :D

Sky blue linear holo with golden shimmer

Why Meddle is from the Meet me at the Abbey pt. 2-collection. It’s sky blue and linear, and even though sky blue isn’t really my colour, I had to give it a go.

I used two coats for my mani. Longer nails than mine may require a third coat. The drying time is good.

So here’s two coats and no topcoat in the sun:

I love the rainbows. When it’s out of the sun the golden shimmer shows its face though… Take a look:

I’m not a fan of that to be honest. But! I can make it all better. I made it into a dry brush mani. I used another LynBDesigns polish: From Night to Day which is a purple linear holo, and an ordinary black crème, and a white crème too. From Night to Day is a jelly, which means it wasn’t the best choice for a dry brush mani, but many strokes did the trick. I am quite satisfied with my final mani here:

And I actually also quite like it in the shadows. Score!!!

I love nail art, because it can turn polishes that aren’t your favourites into quite cool manis.

A mix of matte pink and holographic purple microglitter

It’s been a long while since I bought Wonky Nerds. Sometimes a polish just end up in the bottom of the box of untrieds for no particular reason. I can assure you that Wonky Nerds is happy to shine today!

It’s glitter in a clear base, but it builds up really nicely. I used two coats for my mani and the drying time between the layers is good.

Here’s a sunshine picture. I think it gives a really cool effect!

I added some cute cat stickers, and sealed it up with another layer of topcoat:

Wonky Nerds is a cool glitter. I love that it builds up in two coats, and if you want another effect you can layer a single coat over another colour. Deep purple, bright pink or even midnight blue.

Overall impression: Nice glitter. I love that it builds up on its own.

Watermarble and dots

Today I’m going out to celebrate a dear friend’s birthday and that calls for special nails.

I used two Astor polishes I bought in Germany recently: Berry Cocktail and Blue Lagoon. I started out by painting my pinkie and my pointer purple (Berry Cocktail) and the remaining nails turquoise (Blue Lagoon).

Then I watermarbled my ring finger and my middle finger with the same two polishes plus a white.

I made dots with alternative colours on the other three nails. I made two white dots first to make sure that the colours would stand out more.

I must admit that I was quite impressed with the quality of Astor’s polishes!

So now I’m ready to party, yay!

Royal purple linear holo

Concorde is from the Juicy collection from summer 2015, and this is the fourth and last one I’m showing on the blog. Click here to see Royal Hawaiian and here to see La Tropicale and here to see Framboise. You know you want to! ;) 

Great quality, easy application, good drying time. This polish ticks pretty much all the boxes for me, and I love the colour too.

I watermarbled with this one too, just like I did with Framboise.

The white is Angel with a Leadfoot from OPI. Concord was really good for watermarbling, it spread out on the water beautifully!

The rainbows are so pretty!

Here is a picture of how lovely it is in lower lights as well.

I seriously can’t pick a favourite out of the four polishes I bought, they’re all sooooo beautiful.

Again; there are six polishes in the collection. The two I didn’t buy was Limoncello, which is yellow, and Valencia, which is orange. I don’t think any of them would fit with my skin tone.

Raspberry pink linear holo

Framboise is from the Juicy collection from summer 2015, and this is the third one I’m showing on the blog. Click here to see Royal Hawaiian and here to see La Tropicale. You know you want to! ;)

Cirque makes great quality polishes as a rule and Framboise is no exception. I applied two easy layers to get rid of any visible nail line. It almost covers in one coat, but the second coat enhances the colour, so I recommend two coats.

On my ring finger and the middle finger I did a watermarble, to see if the collection works for that as well, and it does!

The last times I’ve watermarbled with my white Savina, I’ve had some problems making it spread on the water. Today I tried a new white of mine: OPI’s Angel with a Leadfoot. That just works wonderfully for watermarbling, just like Framboise does.

This is such a nice colour!

The colour is also very nice in lower lights, like on this picture.

I really like Framboise, and the word means raspberry in French in case you didn’t know. The raspberries I know isn’t quite as pink, but never mind. It’s a pretty name for a pretty polish!

Teal linear holo

La Tropicale is from the Juicy collection from summer 2015 just like Royal Hawaiian that I already showed you (click here if you missed the post!)

I really like the quality of the polish is great. The coverage is good and I used two coats for my mani.

Before I show you the first picture, I have to tell you that I also used another polish or two. I’ve got Cirque’s Royal Hawaiian on my middle finger and m&s-172 from El Corazón on my fing finger, take a look:

I dotted with the two Cirques on the white. I painted two stripes of white on the middle finger and covered one of them with La Tropicale. The teal is not that visible on the blue here in the sunlight.

Uh, I like the teal and the blue together!

Here’s a low light picture. I love both Cirques in low light, they’re super pretty. And here you might be able to see the teal line on the blue on the middle finger :D

I loved wearing this; I looked at my nails often and thought “wow!” :D

Aqua blue linear holo

Royal Hawaiian is from the Juicy collection from summer 2015. It’s a collection of 6 polishes, and I bought four of them. Royal Hawaiian is the first one up, the others will follow shortly.

The quality of the polish is great. It covers well and I used two coats for this mani:

The ring finger is painted with a white El Corazón, stamped with a motif from Moyou London’s Tropical Collection-01 and the flowers are filled out with Royal Hawaiian. I just did that with a dotting tool.

Here’s a low light picture. I love the colour in low lights too, it’s super pretty!

Royal Hawaiian is a winner for me, I can’t believe I almost didn’t buy it! O_o I’m glad I changed my mind last minute!

Sky blue extreme linear holo

I was in a blue kind of a mood today. I wasn’t quite sure where my mani would end up when I started, but I ended up really satisfied.

Take a look at what I’m talking about:

   

This is a shadow picture of the same thing.

The base colour is Liquid Sky Lacquer’s Enchanted Waterfall. It’s an extreme linear holo. Easy to apply and I used two coats for full opacity. Drying time is good too. The polish on the sides of the nails is Nail Pattern Boldness “Chatty”. I made black stripes and placed a black and white square stud by the base of each nail.

Here’s Enchanted Waterfall on its own. This is a photo taken with flash.

The rainbows refused to not shine. This is a picture taken in daylight, no sun, no flash. Amazing, right?
