Sally Hansen Miracle Gel ~ Flash-ionista

Sally Hansen Miracle Gel ~ Flash-ionista
Sky blue jelly with pink and blue shimmer and blue microglitter

I found today’s polish on special in my local drug store. It’s super hard to resist a good bargain so in the shopping basket it went!

The formula is sheer, and I used three coats to build up opacity. The drying time is good. The pink shimmer is so beautiful in the bottle but it doesn’t really show on the nails; bummer!

The skull stamp is from the stamping plate “Celebration BPX-L007” and I stamped with El Corazón’s stamping polish “Fuchsia”.

This is the final manicure including topcoat.

I just love those little skulls :D

This is “Flash-ionista” on its own; three coats and no topcoat yet.

It suddenly struck me: What if Flash-ionista is an effect polish and isn’t meant to be worn alone like I did?

I grabbed a black swatch stick and painted a layer of Flash-ionista over it. And BAM! Look at this beauty:

Now the pink shimmer shows, and isn’t it just beautiful!

Here are the things I used for my manicure.

I actually quite like the look of Flash-ionista on its own but I must admit that I am loving it over black. I’ll definitely try wearing it over other colours as well. What a great little gem of a polish!

Number of coats: 3 (or 1 as a topper over another colour)

Nicole by OPI ~ Best Pink Ever & CND Creative Play ~ Bling Toss

Nicole by OPI ~ Best Pink Ever & CND Creative Play ~ Bling Toss
Deep pink packed with shimmer, slightly duochromatic & Silver and holo glitter

Nicole by OPI’s “Best Pink Ever” came out in 2012 and was a Wallmart exclusive. I bought this a long while ago, and I am pretty sure I bought it in a blog sale.

The formula is on the sheer side but I did manage to get it to cover in two coats. The drying time is good.

The polish looks duochromatic in the bottle but it doesn’t really transfer to the nails. It’s a nice pink anyway and I love the shimmer.

Here’s two coats and no topcoat.

I added glitter because I wasn’t in the mood for fancy nail art.

The glitter is from CND’s line of Creative Play polishes and is a clear base with silver microglitter and silver and holographic hexagons.

I applied one layer of glitter over the pink and topped it all with topcoat.

Here’s my final manicure:

Here are the two beauties side by side. You can see the colour change on the bottom of the NOPI bottle.

That’s it for today. Simple but nice.

Number of coats: 2
Drying time: Good
Finish: Shimmer (and glitter)
Overall impression: Great shimmer! I wish the formula was thicker

Kiko Holographic ~ 04 Golden Lavender

Kiko Holographic ~ 04 Golden Lavender
Purple/lavender holo

We have now reached the last post in my Kiko Holographics series. There are six polishes in the collection and I have shown them to you over the past days. There’s a link to the rest of the collection at the bottom of this post.

The formula and the coverage is really good; I used two coats for full opacity and didn’t experience any problems with the application. The drying time is good.

The stamp I used is from the plate XY-J19 and I stamped with El Corazón’s stamping polish “Midnight Tango”. I love that red stamping polish!

This is the final manicure including a layer of topcoat. The photo is taken with flash. I think red and purple go really well together.

Here’s the same thing in ordinary daylight, no sun. I love this result!

And here’s “04 Golden Lavender” on its own; two coats and no topcoat.

This is the stuff I used for my manicure.

I can say for sure that this is my favourite polish of the collection. I knew that even before I tried any of them on and that’s why I dare saying it before I’ve tried the last two: The blue and the black. It’s such a lovely shade of purple and I love the formula of the polish as well. What a score!

Here are the links to the other holographic polishes in the collection:
