Bright pink textured

Just a quick post to show off a polish I've had in my box of untrieds for a long time. It's a bright pink and fun textured polish from Golden Rose's Holiday collection. 

I used two coats for my mani and the drying time was average. 

After it was dry I made it into a water spotted mani. This is the final result:

 The picture makes the polish look red but it's not. It's pink. :D

 

I quite like the water spotted effect on this polish.

Red-orange jelly packed with golden shimmer

Riveting is from China Glaze’s Hunger Games Collection from spring 2012, way before I developed a taste for orange polishes. That’s why I only bought it recently, and wow, this is a beautiful orange!

It’s very opaque for a jelly and it covered in two very easy coats. The drying time was really good.

The shimmer in this makes it look as if it’s glowing! This is two coats and no topcoat taken in the sunshine:

This second picture is taken in the light box and is colour accurate. I simply love the glow of this polish.

I made a water spotted mani out of it. I used China Glaze’s Liquid Leather for the purpose and a hand sanitizer in a spray bottle.

These two last pictures are taken in the sun.

I love this orange and I think it goes perfectly well with black.

Get this before it’s too late. It’s already more expensive on ebay, where I usually buy my China Glazes.

Green glitter with a dash og blue and holographic glitter

I Soiree I didn’t do it is from the Cheers Collection from Christmas 2015, just like Ugly Sweater Party I showed you yesterday. Normally I would swatch them and show them all in one post, but I honestly wanted to wear these glittery beauties. So you get them one by one, just like I wore them. I hope you don’t mind too much.

I Soiree I didn’t do it works on its own and is not “just a topper”. I takes two easy and fast drying coats to achieve full opacity.

The sun had gone down when I was done painting, so here’s a photo taken in the low evening light. It’s two coats and a layer of topcoat:

I had decided to do a watermarble on it, but my polishes weren’t in the marbling mood today. I ended up doing a water spotted mani instead. I used Color Club’s Harp on It for the purpose.

I must admit that I really like the effect of this, even though Harp on it isn’t the best to do a water spotted mani with. It’s as if the polish “crumbles” on the surface when I spray the hand sanitizer on it. But never mind, I love the final result.

Neon pinky coral with pink shimmer

I have already showed you Hillbilly Harlot in a water marble mani yesterday. If you missed the post, click here to see it. 

I knew I wanted to use this beauty for an all nail mani so the polish can really shine. It’s such a beautiful colour.

The formula is good. I thought I could get away with two coats but I couldn’t. I had to add a third coat to get rid of visible nail line. And I didn’t use thin coats. The drying time is pretty good.

Here’s three coats and a layer of topcoat in the sun:

Look at that shimmer, isn’t it just amazing?!

I did a water spotted mani today. I found a cool blue from Kiko, #464 from the Denim collection. I dripped three drops of polish into a cup of water, sprayed hand sanitizer on it and dipped two nails at a time.

Here’s the final result:

You never know what patterns show up in the water when you spray onto the polish. It’s just spray and dip when you see a pattern you like :D

Waterspotted gradient

Sometimes I feel like I am totally out of ideas for my manis. It feels like I’m doing the same things over and over again, day after day. Today I wanted to try something I haven’t tried before: Water spotting. Water spotting is when you drip drops of polish onto a water surface, spray with something containing alcohol and then dip your fingers in it. If you remember OPI’s Black Spotted, then you know what I’m talking about. 

 

I have only got pictures of the final mani, but let me talk you through the many steps:

1. I painted my nails green, one coat of Kiko Denin #463.
2. I applied both liquid latex and tape around my nails. I knew this was going to be messy!
3. I made a gradient with the green and Golden Rose Galaxy #14, a lovely purple glittery texture
4. I topcoated it all
5. I dripped three drops of the green onto the water surface. Two would have been enough
6. I sprayed with hand disinfectant
7. I dipped two nails at a time
8. I removed the tape and the latex right after pulling my fingers out of the water
9. I topcoated it all
10. I photographed it, and here it is:

I quite like the effect, but I think it was a mistake to use a texture in my gradient. I turned out pretty “lumpy” even though I’m wearing two layers of topcoat here.

I really enjoyed trying something I haven’t tried before! And I like the result!
