Walking down Memory Lane with Ooh La Lacquer: I Love You, Baby
Magenta linear holo with holo shimmer

“I Love You Baby” is from the V-Day collection 2015 and Ooh La Lacquer hasn’t been around since 2016. I used to love the polishes from Ooh La Lacquer, especially the holos. There were some really beautiful rainbows in the little bottles of nail polish. I have experienced a few of the polishes fading though, which can indicate that the micas, pigments and colorants haven’t been tested in the base for long enough. I bought quite a few of the mystery polishes too, and I have displayed most of them here as I wore them. So basically: I am a big fan, just not of the fading polishes.

Here’s two coats of “I Love You Baby”, floral nail stickers and a layer of topcoat. The photo is taken in the sun.

It’s such a pretty polish.

And this is “I Love You Baby” alone; two coats and no topcoat.

I think this polish has lost a little bit of the brightness over the years, but it’s still a pretty polish. Here’s the link to my original post from 2015, in case you want to compare: https://rainbowifyme.blogspot.com/2015/10/ooh-la-lacquer-i-love-you-baby.html

Ooh La Lacquer: Mystery Crelly (Sea green glitter/shimmer)
Super pale green crelly with blue, holo and iridescent glitters in various sizes

I decided to layer this crelly over a green polish from P2 called “Artful” because I wanted to make sure that I eded up with something that I actually wanted to wear.

So I applied one coat of P2’s “Artful” and on top of that a layer of Ooh La Lacquer’s “Mystery Crelly”.

I applied a layer of topcoat and placed some yellow butterfly “studs” in the topcoat. I applied another layer of topcoat to make it all come together and to not lose the butterflies.

Here’s the final result:

I like the butterflies. They are from Shein but they would be better in gel polish, where you can file the sharp edges of – the edges stick out quite a bit.

Here are the things I used today.

I like this as a topper but it’s not “in your face” enough to work on its own.

Number of coats: 1 over a coloured base
Drying time: Good
Finish: Shimmer/glitter in a crelly base
Overall impression: Erm... the formula is good and the glitter is pretty. It’s not going to be my favourite topper because of the coloured base
