Morgan Taylor ~ Jest-er Kidding

Morgan Taylor ~ Jest-er Kidding
glitter topper, with yellow, red and blue hex glitters surrounded by silvery gold micro glitter

“Jest-er Kidding” is from the Midnight Masquerade Collection from winter 2015/2016. I wasn’t quite sure whether this was a topper or not, but I decided to try and wear it on its own to find out.

So I applied two coats onto my bare nails and got full coverage! The drying time was good too.

There’s so much going on in this polish that I didn’t quite know what to do with it. I ended up putting two blue butterfly stickers on my ring finger nails, but I honestly wish I hadn’t done that. It looked cooler just on its own.

But anyway, here is it with stickers and all: Two coats of “Jest-er Kidding” and a layer of topcoat. The photo is taken in ordinary daylight, no sun.

Here it is all on its own. This is two coats and no topcoat yet.

So this doesn’t quite qualify to be a topper, I don’t think. But it’s definitely worthy of being one of those glitters I dab onto other base colours for the effect.

Colors by Llarowe ~ Purple Pizzaz

Colors by Llarowe ~ Purple Pizzaz
Purple subtle holo

Today’s it’s time for an elder purple lady: Purple Pizzaz. I believe she was made in 2014, so she’s not new.

The formula is really good and so is coverage. The polish was easy to work with and covered in two coats. The drying time was really good.

The stamp I used is from the stamping plate “Kaleidoscope BPX-L009” and I stamped with Colour Alike’s “B. a Red Wine”.

I like red and purple together and this is what that ended up looking like, including topcoat. The photo is taken with flash.

This picture is taken in ordinary daylight, no flash or sun. I really like the colour combo here.

Here’s “Purple Pizzaz” alone; two coats and no topcoat yet.

This is the stuff I used to create today’s manicure.

I like this polish a lot!

Manglaze ~ Fuck Off and Dye

Manglaze ~ Fuck Off and Dye
Bright pink with sparkles, dries up matte

Here’s what Manglaze writes about this beautiful pink polish:

“Yup. It's fucking pink. Bright enough to distract a hoard of zombies while you do that one-handed shotgun cock thing. Ok, that sounds odd. But if you wanna keep your brains, you gotta be able to reload on the fly. FO&D comes wrapped in a horrific scene by the talented and quick wrist of artist Jason Goad.”

The formula is really good and easy to apply. It takes two coats for full opacity and the drying time is really good. The polish dries up matte.

I decided to try a new technique that I’ve seen somewhere on the internet. It’s the technique where you kind of “double stamp”: First I picked up the blue part of the stamp on my stamper and then, while the blue pattern was still on the stamper, I picked up the white triangle. When both patterns were on the stamper, I transferred the pattern onto my nail. I wasn’t very precise when I placed the stamp on my nails, but bear in mind that this was my first attempt of this technique.

The stamping plates I used were “ZJoy-014” for the triangular shape and Lina’s “Feeling Shapely! 01” for the zig zag-pattern.

The blue stamping polish is Colour Alike “B. a Rainy Mood” and the white one is El Corazón’s stamping polish “White”.

I topped with a layer of “Northern Lights” holo glitter topcoat from “Out the Door”.

I was happy with the result. What do you think?

And here’s “Fuck Off and Dye” on its own; two coats and no topcoat. It’s a beautiful, beautiful pink!

Here’s something funny! There were two layers of protective film on the stamping plate with the triangular pattern. I am so glad that the film is blue so I could see right away that there were two layers :D

Here are the things I used:

I think that this is an interesting effect. I will definitely try it again!
