Leighton Denny ~ Temptress

Leighton Denny ~ Temptress
Blackened purple with golden microglitter. Shows up brown on the nails

This is my third Leighton Denny – I’m impressed so far.

The formula is great and covers really well. I used two easy coats for full opacity and the drying time is good. I’m confused because what I see in the bottle is not what I see on my nails. In the bottle I can see the purple base – I can only see brown on my nails. Is that weird, or what??

I stamped on it. I used a star stamp from the stamping plate “KADS Geometry 004”. I used Color Club’s “What’s Your Sign” for the stamping.

This is my final manicure in the sun:

I really like this stamp!

This is “Temptress” on its own; two coats and a thin layer of topcoat. Not the best picture in the world but what the heck :D

Here are the things I used.

“Temptress” is not really my colour because it shows up brown. I don’t understand how the purple disappears when it’s so clear in the bottle. Weird.

Number of coats: 2
Drying time: Good
Finish: Microglitter
Overall impression: Good formula and it’s cool with the glitter. Not crazy about the colour though

Sally Hansen Color Therapy ~ Reflection Pool

Sally Hansen Color Therapy ~ Reflection Pool
Teal shimmer with a shift to purple

Sally Hansen is a cool mainstream brand in my opinion. They are not cheap here though so I either buy them when they’re on special or when I’m on holiday in other countries.

Today’s bottle of polish is from a sale. I still love teal! The duochromatic effect is nothing to brag about but the teal is really beautiful. The formula is good and I would have used two coats for full opacity if I wasn’t a blogger who took pics of my nails. I wanted to make sure that it presented itself perfectly so I applied three coats. The drying time is pretty average.

I considered to make a mermaid-y manicure but I wasn’t thrilled about the idea to be honest. So I mixed it with a beautiful purple/magenta nail foil.

Take a look and the final manicure. Isn’t that just pretty?

I really like these two colours together.

Sally Hansen Color Therapy ~ Reflection Pool

This is “Reflection Pool” on its own; three coats and a thin layer of topcoat. The weak shift to purple is noticeable mostly in the bottle.

It has taken me a while to get to use “Reflection Pool” but this is definitely a polish that stays here. It’s so pretty.

Number of coats: I used 3 for the camera. It covers in 2 coats.
Drying time: Average
Finish: Shimmer with a tiny shift to purple
Overall impression: Beautiful colour and finish. Good formula.

Catrice ~ All’s Well That Ends Pink

Catrice ~ All’s Well That Ends Pink
Hot pink with iridescent shimmer

I just got a bunch of glitters from Ali today and I wanted to use some of it right away. I love glitter!

My base colour polish is hot pink: “All’s Well That Ends Pink”. It’s a lovely shiny pink that covers well in two easy coats. The brush is wide and rounded at the end – I love it. The drying time is good.

I brushed a bit of slow drying topcoat by the base of each nail and sprinkled some of the glitter on. When that was all dry I applied topcoat to seal it up. I ended up using three layers of topcoat to make it all completely smooth.

Here’s my end result:

I absolutely love this!

This is “All’s Well That Ends Pink” alone; two coats and no topcoat. The photo is taken in daylight.
