Dance Legend ~ Eos

Dance Legend ~ Eos
Neon pink crème

Today I wanted something non-subtle on my nails. I went for neon pink. Eos is from Dance Legend’s Pedicure collection, but as I’ve written before: Nails and nails, and I don’t discriminate. This polish is made for toenails but it looks beautiful on my fingernails as well.

I used two easy coats for my mani and the drying time was pretty good without being outstanding.

Here’s two coats taken in the sunshine.

I wasn’t really in the mood for nail art, but I wanted to ad a bit more sparkle. I chose Nail Nation 3000’s Glimmering Hope, a holo topper with flakies.

Here’s one coat of the holo topcoat over Eos; the photo is taken in the sun.

This is taken in the lightbox. Isn’t it just a pretty colour?

And here are the two polishes.

I like it loud, also on my nails, so this is how I like it!

Number of coats: 2
Drying time: Pretty good
Finish: Crème
Overall impression: I love neon colours like this and the quality is great.

Sephora Formula X ~ Wavelength

Sephora Formula X ~ Wavelength
Pink packed with shimmer – slightly duochrome

Yesterday I used one of my older Sephora Formula X polishes for nail art and that reminded me that I have a couple of new ones sitting here – polishes I bought in Poland last year. It’s about time that they get to shine!

You know the drill by now: You get to see the final result first:

It’s two coats of Wavelength. It’s quite sheer on the first coat but it builds up in two. The drying time is okay.
The stamp I used is from stamping plate XY-P16 and I stamped with a metallic blue from El Corazón. It hasn’t got a name but it’s number f-02.
There’s a layer of topcoat over it all to seal it up.

Wavelength is very pretty and girly on its own. Here’s two coats and no topcoat. The picture is taken in the lightbox and you can see the duochromatic effect I was talking about earlier.

Here are the two very shiny polishes.

This mani is a bit more subtle than I originally had in mind but it grew on me so I ended up liking it a lot.

Number of coats: 2
Drying time: Good
Finish: Shimmer, slightly duochromatic
Overall impression: Very girly and very shimmery. I like both.
Buy again: Yes

Born Pretty Holo Galaxy flakes

Born Pretty Holo Galaxy flakes

Today I’m going to show you something I’ve been wanting to try for a while: Holo flakes!

The flakes are super blingy and beautiful.
They come in a little jar and there’s an applicator included as well. Here’s the set:

I have been eager to try this for a while but I was told that it only works on gel polish. I don’t use gel polish so I thought I never get to try it. Then I read that Dance Legend’s glitter base works for the purpose as well. I was thrilled! Now I finally get to try the flakes!

And dear readers, it worked! I applied a layer of glitter base and let it dry. Then I dipped the applicator into the jar of flakes and dapped it onto my nails. Dip and dap, dip and dap, no hassle, just dip and dap.

Here’s the result of all the dipping and dapping:

I ended up with flakes everywhere! First I tried to brush the excess flakes off my skin but that was very effective. Instead I removed the flakes on my skin with tape – that worked like a charm!

My pictures here are taken before I applied topcoat because I wasn’t quite sure how the flakes would react to that. I did topcoat them afterwards though and that didn’t cause any problems at all; and I just used an ordinary topcoat, no water based stuff here.
