Golden Rose Jolly Jewels ~ 108

Golden Rose Jolly Jewels ~ 108
Magenta jelly base with magenta and silver glitter

Jolly Jewels! That’s a great name for a series of glitter polishes! I’ve got a bunch of them in my latest swap with sweet Aylin from Posh Nail Art.

This glitter is so dense that it would probably cover my nail completely in two coats. I wasn’t interested in that though, so I decided to layer it over Zoya’s “Alegra” from the Sparkles collection. It takes two easy coats for that to be opaque, but I only applied one, since the glitter was going to cover it up anyway. Lazy? Not much, haha! :D Anyway, I’ve already showed you what Alegra looks like here, so I didn’t take a picture of that step.

I applied one coat of the glitter. The formula is a bit on the thick side because of the density of the glitter. It spreads out easily and I only had to dap some extra glitter around the edged because the brush “ran out”. It dries relatively fast, which is always a plus in my book.

Here it is in the sunshine. One coat of Jolly Jewels 108 over Zoya Alegra:

If that isn’t an attention seeking polish, then I don’t know what is!
Here’s a picture taken in my lightbox. Look how pretty that glitter is!

I’ve got one layer of Gelous over this, and a layer of Poshé topcoat. I’ve been wanting to try Gelous for a long while, but only found it in a blog sale recently. Just for the record and since this is a blog: It dries really slowly. It does seem to tame the glitter though, so I’m going to use that for the “lumpiest” glitters I have.

Here’s a picture of the polishes I used (minus the basecoat)

Zoya Alegra, Jolly Jewels 108, Gelous, Poshé topcoat

I kept my mani like this because there’s a lot going on with this pretty glitter. Do you like it? And do you use Gelous yourself? If yes: What do you think of it? And where do you buy it?

Opacity: 7/10
Colour, prettiness: 9/10
Durability: 10/10
Value for money: 10/10
Overall: 9/10

Gelous is not instead of the topcoat, it's a supplement :)
