Coco Allure ~ Family Jewels
Blue, red and purple
glitters and hexes in various sizes
I checked if Family Jewels was a “real polish” (as in: working alone) or a topper,
and decided that it is a topper. Then I spent a little time deciding which
colour to show it over. I went for baby pink, since that works with all the colours,
and it doesn’t overwhelm the glitter. I’ll show you the base colour on its own
in the end of this post.
When the pink base colour was dry, I applied a layer of Family Jewels. The glitter
is packed into the bottle, and there’s so much of it that it’s necessary to dap
the glitters in place on the nails. It wasn’t hard though. The drying time was
pretty average. The glitters dry up almost completely flat – that surprised me
a bit. I applied a layer of Poshé topcoat, and here’s what it ended up looking
like:
What you see on each nail is the result of one dip in the bottle per
nail. No fishing after big glitters or specific colours or anything.
Not long ago, I wasn’t that crazy about bigger glitters, but I must
admit that they’ve really grown on me. I like this!
Here’s one last shot of the glitter, just to show it off, haha!!
And here, as promised, is the pink that I used as base colour. It’s a
pink crème from Pastel; it hasn’t got a name, just a number: 144. It applies
easily and dries pretty fast, and the most surprising part? This is one coat:
Yes, I would have applied an extra coat if I would have worn this on its
own, but that wasn’t the case here.
I have already found a spot in my Helmer for Family Jewels, so yes, it’s
a keeper. I like the colour combo and the huge amount of glitters that is in
the bottle. Next time I’ll try and use it for a glitter gradient – I’m sure
that’ll look fantastic too!
