Coco Allure ~ Purple Lagoon

Purple sheer jelly base with purple flakies and blue glitters

Coco Allure is new to me – but I always welcome new pretties in my stash. 

Purple Lagoon is a jelly, and a sheer one, so it requires quite a lot of coats to reach full opacity. I decided to layer it! I layered it over an old Essence, “Passion for Fashion”, which is a lovely purple crème. I’ll show you what that looks like alone at the end of this post.

I applied a layer of Purple Lagoon over the purple base, and man, that’s a pretty polish! Let me show you what it looked like after the first coat:

I wanted a bit more though, so I applied a second coat of Purple Lagoon. Mmm, now it’s perfect! I love the shimmer, the flakies and the subtle blue glitters! Take a look; two coats over a purple base:

This polish is really special! The purple shimmer reminds me a little bit of “Fantasy Fire”.

There isn’t any topcoat on these pictures by the way. It dries up completely flat and shiny, so it wasn’t really necessary imo.

I promised to show you the base colour on its own. Here’s two coats of Essence “Passion for Fashion”. It’s a really nice purple, it applies easily, dries fast and is really cheap. I don’t have anything negative to say about this polish:

The verdict? I had hoped that this would have worked on its own so I didn’t have to layer it. But now that I’ve actually seen it (layered) on my nails, I must say that I am willing to forgive that fact. I love the blue (iridescent?) glitters; they make the polish really special. That’s what I think anyway – but what do you think?
