Julie G Gumdrops - another textured gradient

Julie G ~ Blueberry Fizz & Rock Candy
A blue/green textured gradient

I wanted to try the last two of my Julie G textures, so I decided to use them both today. I wanted to make a gradient, but I wasn’t in the mood to do a gradient on all of my nails.

So I went for blue on two nails, green on two nails and then a gradient right in the middle. Neat idea, no?

Julie G’s textures are really easy to apply and they dry very fast. I applied two coats of each on my nails, and I also went over the gradient twice with the sponge. And that was as easy as that because the pigmentation also is amazing. You could easily get away with one coat! I taped around my middle finger when I did my gradient in order to minimize the clean up.

And here’s what that step looked like:

The blue and the green almost go too well together, don’t they? When I had done this, I actually wished I had made a gradient on all of my nails instead of just the middle fingers.

But I like the colours – both of them. They are definitely keepers!

I stamped on it. I used what has got to be my favourite design (since I’ve used this the most of them all) from Bundlemonster’s plate BM-313, and I stamped with my no name copy polish “Suzi skis in the Pyrenees”.

I didn’t apply a topcoat, and here’s the final mani:

I just love the way this stamp “gathers” the mani into a whole.

And here are the polishes. As you can see the copy polish is not even in an appropriate OPI bottle, lol!

I must say that I’m impressed with Julie G’s Gum Drop polishes. They are all well pigmented, they dry fast, I love the colours and even more: I love the fact that there’s silver glitter in them. What a winner!

What do you think? Should I have given in and made a gradient on all of my nails instead of just the middle ones?

  1. I love the blue shade! Personally I think you should have used blue for the whole manicure ;-) I may have asked you this before but are textured polishes difficult to remove?

    1. Textures aren't as difficult to remove as glitters, but harder than creme polishes for sure :)
