Foxy Paws ~ Before the
parade passes by
Sky blue linear holo
“Before the parade passes by” is from the Holo, Dolly! collection from
summer 2013. The entire collection is inspired by the legendary broadway
musical, “Hello, Dolly!”
The formula was a bit tricky on this one, but definitely manageable. I
had a few problems with dragging – perhaps I’ll try with an aqua basecoat next
time. Anyway, it took three coats before I was satisfied. Some would have
definitely had left it at two coats, but I wasn’t quite happy until I had three.
Drying time was pretty good, no problems in that department, and then I can
live with three coats.
Here’s a pic – three coats in the sunshine:
And another one – this is a very nice holo – I like the blue a lot.
It’s a tad more dusty out of the sun than in the sunshine. Actually it
reminds me a bit of Nubar’s Absolute. I may do a comparison post at some point
:)
Then - I stamped on it. I used a Bourjois 1 seconde lacquer called “Bleu
Moonlight”. It’s not a stamping polish, but it’s very pigmented, so it works
great for stamping. I used Mash stamping plate Mash-50, and chose a wavy
design, because I thought it would look great on the sky blue :)
There’s no topcoat on these pictures. I wanted to make sure I still had
sunshine available for the last pictures I took.
I quite like stamping with other dark colours than black. It doesn’t get
quite as “hard” when it’s not black. I like that.
I like “Before the parade passes by”. The colour is cool and the drying
time is good. The biggest downside is that it requires three coats, but I’m
willing to be forgiving with this pretty polish!
What do you think of this? Would you consider double stamping on it?

It's a delicate and pretty polish - and you know i rarely stamp, but i see an under water scene - that's what i would paint :)
