Orly ~ Temptress

Orly ~ Temptress
A deep red wine shade with gold shimmer.

This polish is from Orly's Holiday 2009 collection, Femme Fatale, which comes as a set of three. I only bought this one, and I got it quite recently, so it’s still available online.

There are polishes that are so “ordinary looking” that they sit in the box longer than the others, waiting to be applied. “Temptress” is such a colour, and that’s a shame, because it *is* a very pretty colour once it’s been painted on.

It’s a deep red with shimmer, and it’s a dream to apply. The formula is very nice to work with too: No stripes or streaks when applied. I’m imagining that this would be a lacquer that’s good for stamping too, since it’s relatively opaque after just one coat.

This is two coats – no top coat.

I did actually stamp on the nails too, but I’ve seriously got to work on my stamping technique.

Removing the foil before stamping...

I’m going to put up a pic even though I’m so not satisfied with it. Then I can always go back and look at it later, and hopefully see how I improved over time. :D

Opacity: 8/10
Colour, prettiness: 7/10
Durability: 7/10
Value for money: 6/10
Overall: 7/10
Buy again: Maybe

  3. THis is not that bad for your first stamping try! Did you see my tutorial? Line up the design with the side of your nail and roll it on to get them all lined up-keep practicing-it gets better and easier!!

  4. @ Sandra ~ I really like the deepness of this red too, thanks.:)

@ Fingers ~ I did see your tutorial yes, thanks. :)
I think the problem was that the polish kind of dried too quickly (or me not working fast enough :D )

  10. I really like the red polish, and I love how you did the star stamp in white, even if you don't like it that much I still think it's pretty awesome looking!

  11. Thank you so much. Part of my problem was, that the stamping colour was a bit pale blue, opposed to white. :/ I kept this on for a day, then I had enough of it. :D
