Nabi Hologram ~ 06 Ocean Blue

Nabi Hologram ~ 06 Ocean Blue
Sea blue linear holo

You should know by now that I take every opportunity to pull out one of my holos! Today, it’s another one of my Nabis that I want to make shine on my nails.

The formula is good, but this polish really likes an aqua base coat. I had forgotten about that, so I just used my regular basecoat. That caused a bit of dragging, so I used the lightest touch and as few brush strokes as possible. The polish is fortunately both quick drying and self levelling so it wasn’t a big problem. The pigmentation is good, and it took two coats to make it opaque. And here’s how the beauty looks in the sunshine:

Is that a great blue or what? I fell in love with this instantly!

The holo effect is good – not the strongest I’ve seen, but I love the fact that this polish looks great when it’s in shadow too!

I tried something new today. I have bought some tools made for cutting out little patterns in paper. I’ve got a star, a heart and a musical note. Today I decided to try the star. I cut out a star in a piece of tape with the tool, placed the tape on a nail and sponged Golden Rose Holday #60 on, and then removed the tape instantly. I repeated these steps on all the nails.

And man, am I pleased with this? Yes I am! Take a look:

The textured black Golden Rose polish makes the stars almost 3D. There is no top coat on these pictures. Later I actually added a layer of a thin topcoat (mix of other topcoat leftovers) – which didn’t spoil the effect at all.

This is a mani that I seriously don’t want to take off!
Please tell me your honest opinion about this. Are you as thrilled as I am?

  5. A lot of holos I see are a bit more muted in color, so it's great to see such a vibrant color as a holo! Love this! :D
