Peggy Sage Holo Style ~
Blue Promise
Sky blue holographic
I ran into a new polish brand last time I was in Sweden: Peggy Sage. I don’t know if
it’s new to the market, but I know it’s new to me – I’ve never heard about the
brand before. I bought two to try them out.
The first one I’ll show you is Blue Promise, a nice sky blue
holographic.
First of all: It requires an aqua basecoat! I tried out with my regular
basecoat first, but it was a streaky, patchy mess – Yucksville City, Wyoming - so
I started all over again with the aqua basecoat, and now the polish applies
like a dream. I used two coats for the swatches and the drying time between the
coats is pretty good. I didn’t apply topcoat before I took my pictures.
Here’s two coats and no topcoat, picture is taken with flash:
It’s a pretty blue in the sunshine, that’s for sure.
It’s a little bit more “boring” in the shadow. There are still tiny
rainbows but the colour fades quite a bit.
So I added a darker blue to the tips. I sponged Kiko’s #440 Electron
Blue from the
Digital Colleciton on the tips, and that helped. Here’s the final mani
taken with flash:
Here’s a low light picture. It reminds me of the sky with glitter on
top! :D
One last shot just because I want to.
I like the quality of the polish, so I must admit I’m looking forward to
trying the other one I bought.
Number of coats: 2
Drying time: Fast
Drying time: Fast
Finish: holographic that
requires an aqua basecoat
Overall impression: I love the colour in the sun – I find it a
little bit boring out of the sun, because it’s so pale. The holo effect is
quite okay though.
