Rival De Loop: Sunny Side
Neon yellow

I recently bought the entire five polish collection “Neon Explosion” from Rival De Loop. I love neon colours and even though I probably have something similar in my collection already, I just had to give this small (and cheap) collection a go. I will link to the other polishes in the collection as I put them here on my blog.

The formula of this first one, “Sunny Side”, is tricky. Yellow polishes are often acting up when applied, so I wasn’t really surprised that it wasn’t easy. I used three coats for my nails today. I would probably have needed a fourth coat if I wanted to wear this on its own, but I was going to do a brush stroke manicure so I finished after three coats. The drying time between coats was good.

I made red, orange and black brush strokes on it.

This is the final design in the sun.

The red brush strokes are made with Kiko #493
The orange brush strokes are made with Rival De Loop’s “Orange Sunset”
The black brush strokes are made with OPI’s “Never Have Too Mani Friends”

Here’s Rival De Loop’s “Sunny Side” on its own; three coats and no topcoat. The photo is as colour correct as I could make it, but it actually shows up really neon in real life; check out the bottle photo.

  1. Four coats would be too much for me... But, this is really very eye-catching neon yellow and I like the final manicure! :-)

    1. Thank you! I could have layered it over white, but that is just not my thing :)

  2. I love a good neon and this is right up my street. Don't mind them being tricky because they look fab! Love the mani too :-D
