Lustré ~ Silk Sheen

Lustré ~ Silk Sheen
Soft golden shimmer

Silk Sheen is exclusively made for Edgy polish. It’s my first Lustré, so stay tuned and see how that went.

The formula is good and easy to apply and this is almost a one coater. I applied two and it did made a difference, so I’ll recommend two coats. Silk Sheen is described as a shimmer, but I think it’s more a metallic. That means it’s a little bit prone to brush strokes, but a thin layer of Poshé topcoat also made quite a difference in that respect. The drying time is good, no problems to report in that department either.

So allow me to show you two coats and a layer of topcoat:

My camera picks up every little detail unseen by the human eye; in real life I don’t see brush strokes at all!

One last shot:

I made some stripes and dots on it with another Lustré: Blue Sky. I also received that for a review and will come back to that later on today.

Here’s my final mani:

I’m definitely going to try and make red nail art on Silk Sheen too!

Verdict:
I’m impressed by the formula and by the fact that this almost covers in one coat. When I try on the “Blue Sky” later today, I’m going to try and stamp with this to see if it works for that also.
To be honest I would not have picked this colour myself; I’m much more into silver than to gold. I was so surprised to find that I really like this on me. Perhaps it’s the softness of the gold that does that it doesn’t clash with my skin tone.
So big thumbs up from me – this is a winner!

Number of coats: 2
Drying time: Good
Finish: Metallic
Overall impression: Good quality polish, good coverage and drying time – and I think this colour would look good on pretty much everybody!
Buy again: Yes

  1. It is a very soft color I agree, and an unusual shade to see on you, so it's really nice that you like it :)

    1. I think it's because it feels like a mix between silver and gold that it doesn't clash with my skin tone :)

  2. I usually wouldn't pick such a color and the brush strokes are very visible in your pics. But as long as you like it it's good. Maybe it's good for stamping!

    1. I know the brush strokes are visible in the pictures but fortunately they weren't in real life :) And it turned out to be good for stamping, so yay! :)

    1. I think you're right about the cool tones, it just never occurred to me that a gold polish could be cool toned. Wow! :)
