Bootie Babe ~ Teenie Bikini

Bootie Babe ~ Teenie Bikini
Sky blue with holo microglitter

It’s ages since I last showed you a Bootie Babe polish! It’s because I haven’t got that many of them – and I only bought this recently.

The formula is good but the polish is rather on the sheer side. It builds up in three coats though – and having said that, if you have long nails you might need four. Drying time between the coats is really good.

Here’s what three coats and no topcoat looks like with a flash:

That’s a blue that’s easy on the eyes!

I slapped on a glitter from Claire’s called Fireworks. It’s a clear base with white, blue and black glitters in various sizes and shapes. The glitter spreads easily and effortlessly and dries fairly quickly. Here’s one layer of glitter over the Teenie Bikini. The picture is taken outside on an overcast day.

It’s really funny! This mani reminds me of the wall painting on the stairways in the house I live in! You don’t believe me? Well, take a look yourself:

I feel completely camouflaged, LOL! Here’s a shot taken with flash:

Number of coats: 3
Drying time: Fast
Finish: Holo microglitter in tinted base
Overall impression: The colour is easy on the eyes, the holo effect doesn’t impress me, and neither do the three coats. I do like the fast drying time though.

Bootie Babe ~ Tears for Rears

Bootie Babe ~ Tears for Rears
Burgundy with shimmer

It’s not a secret that I like glitter, everybody should pretty much know that by now. But I’m also a sucker for a good shimmery polish, and Tears for Rears is such a polish.

The colour is dark red and very sexy, I love it! The formula is great, I had no problems with application whatsoever! Drying time is also good, and I have no complaints about the pigmentation either. It took two easy coats to get full coverage and I topcoated it before I took the pictures. The polish shines a lot in itself, but I want to show you the true beauty of Tears for Rears.

So here it is it all its glory. Two coats, one layer of Poshé topcoat:

This is a kind of red I like a lot. It makes my nails look really pretty – in all modesty of course! :D

The pictures are all taken in the sunshine. Polishes like this one loves the sun.

I think I’ve mentioned before that I like oddly shaped bottles (I almost wrote buttles! :D ) – so the fact that they put such a pretty polish into a butt shaped bottle, well, I don’t mind that at all!

Here’s one last picture of it alone. Isn’t that shimmer just fantastic?!

I decided to wear it with a reversed glitter gradient. I used a Golden/cobber glitter from Layla with the number CE55. I got that in a swap a long time ago, and this is only the second time I use it. I sponged the glitter on and topcoated it with another layer of Poshé topcoat, and here’s my final mani:

I don’t wear golden colours very often, but I seriously like this a lot:

I must say that I’m impressed with the three polishes I tried from Bootie Babe. I like the red glitter the most, then this beauty of a shimmery polish, and the purple glitter comes in third.

I am not surprised that it’s Nubar who manufactures these, because I’ve always loved the Nubar polishes I’ve got. So yes – I’ll probably get more Bootie Babe polishes to keep these three sisters company :)

Bootie Babe ~ Hanky Spanky

Bootie Babe ~ Hanky Spanky
Purple microglitter

I thought Hanky Spanky was the purple version of Junk in da Trunk I posted about earlier today, but it’s totally different. The pretty purple microglitter isn’t actually in a purple jelly base, it’s just in a clear base. This means that I couldn’t get away with two coats here, like I did yesterday.

The formula is still okay though, and the glitter spreads out easily and dries pretty fast. And man, can this glitter shine! It just sparkles like crazy. I had huge problems with the pictures – it was so hard to capture the beauty and get the colour right at the same time. I’ve taken a brazillion photos, and these are the ones that made it through the needle’s eye.

Three coats is what I ended up with, and one coat of Poshé topcoat really made the glitter come alive:

These pictures are taken in the sun, and I promise you, that the polish is even prettier in real life!!

I think I would have preferred the glitter in a coloured base instead of just a clear base, it would have added even more to the prettiness!

A butt in my hand. Again. :D

Like I said; I took so many pictures, I think it’s the polish I’ve photographed the most. I wanted to show how pretty this really is, but I’m not convinced that my pictures do the polish 100% justice…

This picture is taken in daylight indoors, and out of direct sunlight:

The depth is fantastic. I love this glitter!

The polish deserves a lot of pics! Here's the last one:

Nice, eh?

I stamped on it. I used my XL stamping plate O and stamped with Essie’s “Nothing Else Metals”. I sealed the whole thing up with a layer of Poshé topcoat. And here is the final mani:

Later that same evening I went to the post office to collect a parcel. And I kid you not: This mani made the post office girl swoon! I had to tell her all the details about how I had done it and stuff! It was awesome, and I had to promise to wear glitter with a stamp next time I go there and preferably when her colleague is back from vacation, so she can see it too! :D

Anyway – back to the polish: I really like this glitter. It’s purple, it’s sparkly, the formula is good and the drying time is also good. The only minus I can come up with is the lack of colour in the base. It would have added hugely to the total if the base had been purple. That way I think I would have been able to get away with two coats instead of three.

But yes – I’ll give this Bootie Babe a lacquered thumbs up.

Bootie Babe ~ Junk in da Trunk

Bootie Babe ~ Junk in da Trunk
Red jelly with red microglitter

I’ve always liked polishes in oddly shaped bottles! But seriously: I never thought I would own a polish bottle shaped like a butt! LOL

Junk in da Trunk is a gorgeous red jelly packed with red microglitter. The formula is no less than great. The polish spreads out evenly and the drying time was really good too. I was happy after two coats, but looking at the pictures, I maybe should have added a third for the camera. But believe me – it looks just perfect in real life with these two coats I’m wearing. I also applied one layer of Poshé topcoat – and that made the glitter come even more to life!

Enough talk – let me show you what I’m talking about! Two coats, one layer of Poshé:

These pictures are taken in direct sunshine – isn’t that just a fantastic and squishy looking polish?!

It’s the first time that I’ve taken photographs of my hand holding a butt….

Here’s a picture taken in my light box. I won’t lie to you: This polish is right up my alley!

You know I hardly ever wear a polish on it’s own, and even though I find this “Junk in da Trunk” extremely pretty, I decided to put some dots on it. I used Urban Outfitters “Silver Holo”, and made some pretty holo dots on it. Another layer of Poshé topcoat finished off the mani:

And here’s a slightly blurry pic to show you the bling:

I’ve only got positive words for this polish. It’s a lovely red, it’s glittery, it’s got a great formula and it covers well. It’s a no less than fabulous nail polish!

And I can’t help it – I keep getting this song into my head as I write this post:

I like big butts and I can not lie
You other brothers can't deny
That when a girl walks in with an itty bitty waist
And a round thing in your face
You get sprung
Wanna pull up tough
Cuz you notice that butt was stuffed
Deep in the jeans she's wearing
I'm hooked and I can't stop staring
