Butter London: No More Waity Katie

Butter London: No More Waity Katie
Grey jelly with lavender microglitter

I'm trying to work my way through the stash of polishes that I consider rehoming. "No More Waity Katie" is actually quite pretty. I like the lavender microglitters a lot. The grey base is a jelly though and jellies aren't my favourites - you probably know that by now :D

Today I'm wearing it for the first and probably last time. I used three coats for full opacity. I tried to get away with two but it didn't look amazing. The third coat made a huge difference. The drying time is good.

I decided to perk it up a bit with some colour. I stamped on it with Colour Alike's stamping polish "Tainted love". I found my design on Chez Delaney's stamping plate "Water Marble". I topped it all with Orly's holo glitter topper "Shine On Crazy Diamond".

Here's the final design:

I think this is quite pretty!

Here's "No More Waity Katie" alone; three coats and no topcoat.

This is the stuff I used today.

"No More Waity Katie" has been sitting in my box of untrieds for quite a lot of years. It's quite funny now that I think of it: Today it's no more waity for "No More Waity Katie" :D
This polish will be rehomed.

Number of coats: 3
Drying time: Good
Finish: Jelly with microglitter
Overall impression: I like the cute microglitter. I'm not fond of the jelly finish.

Layla ~ Ceramic Effect CE44

Layla ~ Ceramic Effect CE44
Deep pink packed with silver shimmer

I simply couldn’t decide which colour I wanted on my nails today so I asked my boyfriend for advice. He is highly supportive of my crazy polish hobby and I appreciate that. He chose pink so I dived into the box of untrieds which has just be filled up with polishes I bought on my vacation in Italy. I picked a Layla polish, CE44. It’s a lovely deep pink and the bottle is packed with silver shimmer, so much that the polish almost looks metallic.

The formula is great and you can easily get away with one coat. I used two coats for my mani but trust me when I say that the second coat didn’t make any difference whatsoever. The drying time is really good too.

I stamped on it. The motif is from Chez Delaney’s stamping plate “Rectangles A005” and I stamped with a black stamping polish from El Corazón. I filled out some of the circles with green, for which I used Colour Alike’s “B. a Fairy Forest” - and silver, for which I used Colors by Llarowe’s “Sparkling Diamonds”.

This is the final mani including topcoat:

I must admit that I am really annoyed with my stamping plates from Chez Delaney. The motifs are really cool and I bought quite a lot of her plates. I find it a problem that I have only got one stamper that the plates actually like, and that’s a soft marshmallow stamper from Moyou London. It irritates me that I can’t use any stamper I want, especially because I love using my clear stampers so I know exactly where the stamp is going. For that fact alone I can’t recommend the plates from Chez Delaney.

Anyway, let me show you Layla’s CE44 on its own. This is two really easy coats and no topcoat.

Looked how packed it is with shimmer! I absolutely love this polish.

Here are the four polishes I used for my mani.

I wasn’t hugely excited about this mani. I should have left the pink alone :D

Number of coats: 2 but it’s a one coater
Drying time: Good
Finish: Heavy shimmer
Overall impression: Great formula, easy to work with, I love the shimmer

Polished for Days ~ Querencia

Polished for Days ~ Querencia
Bright magenta linear holographic with a violet-orange shimmer.

It’s been a while since I wore Polished for Days last, so here we go.

The maker writes this about the name:
Querencia (n.)- a place from which one’s strength is drawn, where one feels at home; the place where you are your most authentic self.
Pronunciation: ka-ren-se-ah

The formula is good and I used two easy and fast drying coats for my mani. I had no sun available, so here’s two coats and no topcoat taken with flash:

Here’s a daylight picture, no direct sun. It’s a cloudy day. I can’t really see the orange shimmer but it’s a lovely polish nonetheless.

I went for a simple stamp today. The barbed wire motif is from Chez Delaney’s plate Barres Ornamention 001 and I stamped with Colour Alike’s B. a Rainy Mood.

This is the final mani including a layer of topcoat.

The polishes I used, lined up and pretty:

My boyfriend noted that it isn’t that often I wear pink. I don’t know why, because I really like pink, especially spiced up with a darker colour like here.

Number of coats: 2
Drying time: Really good
Finish: Linear holo with shimmer
Overall impression: I like it. Easy to work with, good colour, nice effect.
