Cuccio Colour ~ Goodie, Goodie Gumdrops

Cuccio Colour ~ Goodie, Goodie Gumdrops
Coral orange shimmer

Goodie, Goodie Gumdrops is from the Sweet as Sugar! Candy Colour Collection from spring 2015. Coral used be a colour I kept away from, but since orange came into my life, coral slowly found its way too.

The formula is good and covers in two easy coats. Drying time is good.

This is two coats and no topcoat:

I added a couple of purple butterfly water decals on my ring finger and the middle finger, and made four purple dots on each of the remaining nails. I topped the whole thing off with topcoat, and this is my final mani.

I think purple and orange go quite well together.

I like it. How about you?

Number of coats: 2
Drying time: Really good
Finish: Shimmer
Overall impression: Good quality, really nice shimmer
Buy again: I would

Cuccio Colour ~ Sicilian Summer and Sation ~ Sandy Glo

Cuccio Colour ~ Sicilian Summer and Sation ~ Sandy Glo
Deep pink with shimmer and Clear base with red and silver microglitter

Today I’m just testing a couple of polishes I bought from ebay.

My heart sank a bit when I opened the envelope with Sicilian Summer in it. The polish looked so pretty on the picture I saw and in the bottle it looks a bit like a grandma polish! I don’t find new homes for my polishes without testing them though so today I tried it on.

The formula is great and so easy to work with. Coverage is good too, I used two easy and fast drying coats to achieve full opacity. I was really happy to see that this is a polish that’s much nicer on the nails than in the bottle. I love it when that happens!

Here’s two coats of Sicilian Summer and no topcoat:

That’s a keeper for sure!

I paired it with another polish that looked way different on the swatch pictures than what I got in the mail: Sandy Glo by Sation. I actually thought that this was a red and white microglitter and was very surprised to see it was silver and red – and that there’s no way that this is going to work as anything than a topper.

Never mind, I like toppers, so let’s see if these two polishes actually work together. I applied a layer of Sandy Glo. The drying time was a bit on the slow side.

Here’s one layer of Sandy Glo over Sicilian Summer. There’s no extra topcoat on.

Sicilian Summer is a keeper! I need to try Sandy Glo over a different colour before I decide its fate :D

Number of coats: 2
Drying time: Really good
Finish: Shimmer
Overall impression: Sicilian Summer is way prettier on the nails than the bottle suggest. As for Sandy Glo: I actually hoped for a non-topper :D
Buy again: Yes to Sicilian Summer, maybe to Sandy Glo

Cuccio ~ Nantucket Navy

Cuccio ~ Nantucket Navy
Navy with blue shimmer

I used this polish for striping when I tried Orly’sRoad Trippin’ (click the link to see what I’m talking about :D). It looked darker than I anticipated so I decided that I needed to wear it as a base colour too.

The formula is great and this, dear readers, is a one coater! I applied an extra coat out of habit and because that’s how I roll, but it didn’t make any difference at all.

So this is two coats:

I like this colour way more than I thought I would. The shimmer makes this polish stand out in my opinion.

I stamped on it anyway because that’s also how I roll. The motif is from Moyou London’s stamping plate Illusion collection-01 and I stamped with Gosh’s Holographic Hero.

This is a photo of that step.

I also added glitter because I really liked stamping with glitter on it. This time I used Jordana’s Lunar Lights, which is a clear base with iridescent glitters in various sizes. I made sure I only got a bit of the glitter on each nail, in order not to overwhelm the holo.

This is my final mani, including a layer of topcoat.

Nantucket Navy is a part of the Romania After Dark Collection.

Number of coats: 1 (I used 2, it didn’t make a difference)
