Colors by Llarowe ~ KP

Colors by Llarowe ~ KP
Sky blue linear holo

KP is from the recent Football Fever Collection.

The formula is good, no surprises there! I used two coats for full opacity and the drying time is good. The polish on my ring finger (and my thumb, which isn’t visible on the pictures) is from Julie G and it’s called “Sleigh Ride”. It’s a beautiful blue texture and it also covers in two coats. Drying time is a bit on the slow side.

This is my final mani:

The stamp is from Moyou London’s stamping plate Holy Shape Collection-03 and I stamped with a pink stamping polish from Moyou (not Moyou London, it’s very confusing!) The bow on my pinkie is just from evilBay.

This is how pretty it all looks in lower lights.

These are the polishes I used.

I like this. How about you?

Number of coats: 2
Drying time: Really good
Finish: Linear holo
Overall impression: Good colour, I just wish the rainbows were more prominent. Yes, I’m greedy! :D
Buy again: Not sure

Striper nail art brush test

Striper nail art brush from Born Pretty Store

Stripes are a good way to spice up a plain manicure. Today I’m going to show you a striper nail art brush from
Born Pretty Store.

The brush looks like this:

You can take the handle off and use it as a cap for the brush so it’s protected when you don’t use it. That’s a pretty clever feature!

Here’s the mani I made:

The brush is fairly thick for a striper brush and therefore my stripes got wider than I usually prefer them. I like the manicure nonetheless though.

I just cleaned the brush with polish remover after use. Easy peasy.
Just for the record, here are the polishes I used:

Colour Alike #496, Julie G Rock Candy, OPI Angel with a Leadfoot

The verdict:

Pros:
Good length on the brush
Nice tool for stripes
Great feature that the handle can be used as a cap for protection

Cons:
The brush is too wide for precision nail art – after I made this I cut of 75% of the hair to make it a proper striping size :D

Loki Nail Vinyls – Grass shaped

Loki Nail Vinyls – Grass shaped

I showed you Loki Nail Vinyls yesterday, and today I’m going to do the same thing, just with a different motif.

Here’s what the grass shape looks like:

And here’s the little instruction that comes with the vinyls.

I decided to not use them as grass though. My nails are relatively small and I think this would be some really overwhelming grass for me, haha! So I used them the other way around, take a look:

These are really easy to work with, and I actually used them twice, so they are definitely reusable, which is a big plus.

One last picture just to show off.

The green polish I used is Pahlish’s Squeaky Swings and Tall Green, and the orange is a textured polish from Julie G called Sugar Rush.

Verdict:
Okay, now I’m a fan of these. They are so easy to use and the mani ended up looking really cool.

Julie G ~ Sugar Plum Fairy & Under Mistletoe

Julie G ~ Sugar Plum Fairy & Under Mistletoe
Purple glittery texture & Christmas tree green shimmer

I received these two polishes in a swap about a year ago. I actually thought that they were both textured polishes, but it turned out that it’s only the purple one that is – the green is a regular shimmer polish.

I ended up with this mani:

Sugar Plum Fairy is a one coater, so I’m only wearing one coat of that. Under Mistletoe requires two coats for full opacity. Both polishes have an average drying time.

The silver is from Essence and is called Glitterastic. I made three dots on the purple, but they drowned a bit in the glittery purple :D

Here are the polishes I used:

I don’t think I’ll keep any of the Julie G polishes, they just don’t tick the right boxes for me.

Number of coats: 1 for the purple, 2 for the green
Drying time: Average
Finish: Glittery texture / Green shimmer
Overall impression: I feel a little bit “meh”
Buy again: No

Picture Polish ~ Moscow

Picture Polish ~ Moscow
Deep burgundy/maroon with scattered holo effect and shimmer

There are polishes that just speak to me when I see them, and Moscow is such a polish. I love the colour, the deepness and how special this polish looks.

The formula is good, and could easily be a one coater. I used two though, because that is the way I roll. Drying time is good, no issues whatsoever.

Take a look at how pretty it is:

These two first pictures are taken with flash. I love that glow that seems to come from within.

Here is a low light picture. That colour is still gorgeous!

I made pink icicles on them. I used a pink texture from Julie G called Ho Ho Ho and I painted the spikes with a striper brush. I topcoated the whole thing and it turns out that Moscow is a bleeder, because that step made the Julie G a tone darker. I didn’t mind that at all.

Here’s my final mani:

One last shot:

I really like Moscow, it lives up to my big expectations for sure!

Number of coats: 2 (but 1 is enough)
Drying time: Good
Durability: Good
Finish: Scattered holo with shimmer
Overall impression: Gorgeous polish, great quality!
