Quo by Orly ~ Turquoise Moonlight

Quo by Orly ~ Turquoise Moonlight
Turquoise packed with shimmer

Quo by Orly were originally limited to only be sold in Canada. My first couple of bottles were sent as a part of a swap with a Canadian girl. I am pretty sure I bought this bottle in TKMaxx in Germany. I have no idea how it ended up there since I have never seen any other Quo by Orly polishes on my tours to Germany. Never mind though, it’s a really beautiful and super shimmery polish.

The formula is good. I have read other blog posts about “Turquoise Moonlight” where it’s described as sheer. My bottle of prettiness is not sheer; it covers really well and I used two easy coats for full opacity. The drying time is average.

I made a tape manicure out of it, using zig zaggy nail vinyls. I paired it with a beautiful glitter from “Cosmetic Arts”. I bought that in a blog sale a long while ago and it hasn’t got a name or a number.

This is my final manicure including topcoat. The photo is taken in the lightbox and doesn’t show all the blingyness of the polish.

I took this photo of “Turquoise Moonlight” in the sun. The shine is just amazing and the bling is really something.

Here’s the stuff I used. “Turquoise Moonlight” has a slight duochromatic effect as you can see. It’s nothing that’s visible once the polish is on the nails though.

Wow, I really like this polish. It’s beautiful and all the shine is right up my alley.

Number of coats: 2
Drying time: Average
Finish: Shimmer, shimmer, shimmer!
Overall impression: Great colour and effect, I love this polish

KBShimmer ~ Keep Palm and Carry On

KBShimmer ~ Keep Palm and Carry On
Rich green linear holo

What’s better than holo? That’s easy: Holo with holo on! :D

Today’s mani is full of holo, I just couldn’t stop!

First I applied two layers of Keep Palm and Carry On from the Nauti by Nature collection from spring 2017. The drying time was really good.

I stamped on this beautiful green holo with Color Club’s Cosmic Fate and Angel Kiss, both from the Halo Hues collection. The stamp is from Lina’s Make your Mark 01 stamping plate.

This is what holo with holo looks like:

Crazy, right? :D
Here’s the same thing in the lightbox, just so you can see the motif.

This is two layers of Keep Palm and Carry On on its own. It’s such a lovely green.

The stuff I used for this mani:

Keep Palm and Carry On is a winner in my book. And all the Halo Hues polishes from Color Club are such great stampers, I love them!

Number of coats: 2
Drying time: Really good
Finish: Linear holo
Overall impression: Great polish in all possible ways

KBShimmer ~ The Holy Kale

KBShimmer ~ The Holy Kale
Green linear holo with added micro glass flakes that shift between blue and pink

The Holy Kale is from the Winter/Holiday collection from 2016. I only bought it recently though.

The formula is good but the polish is a teeny wee bit sheer. I applied two coats but when I look at my pictures I can see that I should have added a third coat. That’s noted for the next time I wear it: Three coats is needed. The drying time is really good, no worries there.

I stamped on it. The chevrons are from my new Lina stamping plate “Feeling shapely! 01” and I stamped with a stamping polish from El Corazón called “Restless Nights”. It’s a beautiful shimmery dark purple.

Here’s my final mani, including a layer of topcoat, and taken with flash.

Here’s the same thing taken in ordinary daylight, no sun. On this picture you get a glimpse of the pretty micro glass flecks showing off their blue side.

This is The Holy Kale on it’s own. It’s two coats and no topcoat. Like I said: I should have applied three coats for full opacity.

Here are the two sisters side by side. I really like that stamping polish, it’s so nice with a good dark purple for stamping!

Number of coats: 2 – but I should have used 3
Drying time: Really good
Finish: Linear holo with micro glass flecks
Overall impression: Cool colour and great rainbows. I’m glad it dries fast, otherwise I would have said “no” to buy again
