Born Pretty store gel polish: Base coat, color coat, topcoat

Born Pretty store gel polish: Base coat, color coat, topcoat

Born Pretty Store has sent me some gel nail polish to try out.

Today I'm going to test their base coat, topped with the gel polish "Romantic Starry Sky", and sealed up with their gel top coat.

This is the set:

Here are the links to the polishes:

I tried the set on a nail stick today. The formula of both base and top is really good and easy to apply. The coloured gel has a more thick formula and can be a bit difficult to apply in a thin coat. I managed though, and I used two coats for full opacity. Each layer was cured in my LED lamp for 30 seconds. The topcoat is a no wipe topcoat.

Here's what it all look like. The glitter is really pretty and I like the colour too.

 Isn't it pretty?

I applied silver stars on it and applied an extra layer of the topcoat. The extra layer made the stickers feel completely flat.

Look at that!

The verdict:

Pros:
Great formula of base and topcoat
Thick, covering formula of the coloured base
Very pretty colour and effect
Good drying time (30 secs in LED lamp)

Cons:
None

Series of Caramel Gel polishes UR-01 to UR-06

Series of Caramel Gel polishes UR-01 to UR-06

Born Pretty Store has sent me some gel nail polish to try out.

Today I'm going to show you the six gel polishes from the Caramel Gel series. All six polishes are brown, which is why I'm going to show them on swatch sticks. I'm not a huge fan of browns.
Here is the link to the Caramel gel polishes:

Here's what they all look like:

This goes for all of them: The formula is thick but easy to work with. The coverage is really good too - I used one single coat for what you see on these photos. I cured them in my LED lamp for 60 seconds.

Here they are one by one.

Fairy Glo Gel polish #58020

Fairy Glo Gel polish #58020
Red packed with coral shimmer

My first experience with gel polish wasn’t fantastic: It chipped the day after I put it on. Today I’m going to try again with a different brand.

I bought FairyGlo on Aliexpress very cheap. The formula is thick – as I understand most gels are. It was easy to work with though and it covered really well. I used two coats for my manicure today.

I did like this:

Base coat – cure 60 seconds
Two coats of FairyGlo polish – cure each layer 60 seconds
Top coat – cure 60 seconds

Here is what it looks like in the sun.

I didn’t apply any sort of nail art. I’ll do that next time I try gel.

I am very curious to see if this lasts longer than last time. I hope so!

Edit: It didn't. It chipped the weirdest way I've ever experience. Only one of the layers chipped off and it chipped from the middle of the nails. How weird is that!

Number of coats: 2
Drying time: 60 seconds per layer
Finish: Shimmer
Overall impression: Nice formula to work with, good colour
Buy again: Yes
