Linda Johansen ~ Slow Fox

Linda Johansen ~ Slow Fox
Denim blue crème with a hint of dusty grey

Linda Johansen is a Norwegian polish brand-

The formula is no less than great. The polish applies easily and dries with a very nice shine. It took two easy coats to reach full opacity, and the drying time between coats was really good too. Exactly how I like it! I must admit that to start with I was a bit sceptical about the dusty tone that this polish has, but goshdarn, I must admit that I like this polish, and the way it looks on me!

Let me show you what I’m talking about! Two coats, no topcoat – and please note the shine!

This second picture shows more of the dusty side of the polish. I’m so lucky that I can wear whatever polish I want at work. But if “classical” was required I’d go for this, because it’s still got an edge even though it can be used as a formal work appropriate polish!

Don’t you think that the polish suits me? I’m impressed myself!

The pictures are all taken in the sunshine (an increasingly valuable commodity at this time of year).

I didn’t wear it like this, you must know that already. I dug up another bottle which I also got from Norway Nails for a review, namely Lynnderella’s “Aquamarine Calm”. I’ve already shown you that glitter – take a look here if you’ve forgotten. It’s a mix of various sizes and shapes of blue glitter. I made a glitter gradient by sponging the glitter on and sealed the whole thing up with a layer of Poshé topcoat. Now allow me to show you the final result:

The pictures are taken in full sun, so some of the glitters look as if they’re black. They’re not - it is their very positive reflective qualities that make them appear like that.

This may be the most colour correct picture. I absolutely think this works!

One last shot, just because I’m impressed myself, haha!

That was another Linda Johansen polish for you. I know I am impressed, and that says a lot when we’re talking about a crème polish! This has the potential to be used as a base for lots of very cool nail art!

What say you? :)

Lynnderella ~ Opal Intuition

Lynnderella ~ Opal Intuition
Pink, purple and iridescent multisized and multishaped glitter in a clear base

So, here’s my second Lynnderella ever. This glitter is right up my alley and can spice up pretty much ever imaginable mani.

To prove it, I have tried this over two different polishes.

First I want to show it over a purple. I used Femme Fatale Twilight Meteorite, which I showed you here.  It’s a seriously pretty purple packed with glass flecks.

And here’s what happens when I dab a layer of Opal Intuition over it, and seal it up with a layer of Poshé topcoat:

Isn’t that just dreamy and beautiful?

The iridescent glitters changes colour after how the light hits them. It’s so pretty.

I like this! I’d even wear this for a wedding!

Sometimes I’m more in the mood for a bit more edge, so I also tried it with a blood red polish underneath. I chose Manglaze “Fatty’s got more blood”, which is a dark red matte polish. I showed it here. Again, I dabbed on a layer of the Opal Intuition, and sealed it with a layer of Poshé topcoat.

The dark underwear gives this polish a totally different expression! It’s almost as if it wasn’t the same topper. Let me show you what I’m talking about:

The glitter polishes stand out more this way, and the look gets less girly.

The amount of glitter on each nail is from one dip in the bottle – I’m quite pleased with that.

Verdict:
This is a favourite glitter! It’s usable for almost every colour imaginable – I’d even try it over a teal next time. It dries pretty fast, and I only needed a generous coat of Poshé to smooth out the glitter. I found that I needed to dab the glitter on to get the glitter spread out evenly, but that’s pretty normal for glitters like that, so it’s not a problem, but just the way it is.

So yes: I’m also very pleased with my second ever Lynnderella!

Lynnderella ~ Aquamarine Calm

Lynnderella ~ Aquamarine Calm
Blue multisized and multishaped glitter in a clear base

I must admit that I didn’t think I should ever own a Lynnderella polish, but here is my first one!
The glitter is a topper, so I chose a dark blue shimmer as underwear: Isadora’s “Peacock”. There’ll be a pic of that at the end of this post. But for now it’s about Aquamarine Calm. I applied one coat of the glitter and it spread out evenly and easily. What you see on the nails is one dip in the polish per nail, so there’s no need for fishing for glitter here :)

I applied a layer of Gelous and a layer of H K Girl topcoat to seal it up, and here, my sweet girls, is what the Aquamarine Calm looks like:

There is so much going on in this polish that I didn’t see it all by looking at the bottle. I was surprised to find both hearts and half moons and little diamond shaped glitters – and what a nice surprise that was!

You can see the heart on my pinkie and a half moon on my middle finger and diamonds on several of the fingers.

All the pictures are taken in the sun, it is so shiny and pretty!

I didn't even know that I had such a pretty birthstone!

It was a bit difficult to stop taking pics of it :)

And here, as promised, is the underwear: Isadora “Peacock” – two coats.

Most of you probably know by now that I’m a big glitter fan – the more bling the better. And blue is a favourite colour – so this glitter polish is a great addition to my stash! Polished thumbs up from me!
