Spell Polish ~ Bella’s Whiskers

Spell Polish ~ Bella’s Whiskers
Sky blue linear holo

It’s time for another beautiful Spell Polish. It’s blue this time and it has got a really strong holo flame, wait and see.

The formula is good, I had no problems with application. I used two coats for this mani, and the drying time between the coats is good.

Here’s two coats and no topcoat taken with flash:

Take a closer look at that holo flame! Isn’t that just gorgeous!

Here’s what it looks like in low lights. Sky blue, and the rainbows still want to play a bit.

Here’s whiskers. Bella’s Whiskers. Hahahaha!!

If you take a closer look at the bottle on the picture above, you can see that it’s got a purple flash to it too. That purple didn’t transfer onto my nails unfortunately.

Every bottle of Spell Polish comes with a little card with a rhyme on. Here’s the card that came with Bella’s Whiskers.

Now that’s a pleasant blue, especially in the sun.

Number of coats: 2
Drying time: Pretty good
Finish: Linear holo

Anonymous Lacquer ~ Blue Bloods

Anonymous Lacquer ~ Blue Bloods
Ultra blue linear holo

Today I’m going to show you another one of the Anonymous Lacquers I bought. Blue Bloods is seriously pretty in the bottle, so let’s see if the prettiness tranfers onto the nails, shall we?

The formula was good, but the polish had a tendency to drag when I applied the first coat. You pretty much have to do your nails in three straight strokes in order to avoid it. Fortunately the second coat is very forgiving and I didn’t have any dragging when I applied it. Coverage is really good. Drying time too.

The sun played hide and seek so I gave up the waiting eventually and settled with my flash. Here’s two coats and no topcoat:

I think these rainbows are adorable!

Here’s a low light picture. The colour is slightly dusty, but the rainbows refuse to not shine!

I made a white line down each nail. Then I painted a pink glittery line on each side of the white and one down the middle. The pink striper is from Moyra, I bought it in Hungary and it hasn’t got a name. The more stripes I painted, the more gloopy the polish got, and at the end it felt almost impossible to paint with. But I managed, phew!

Here’s my final result with flash:

And here’s a low light picture.

There’s one layer of topcoat on the picture, but I ended up wearing this with two coats. The gloopy glitter was a bit too bumpy for my liking, so I felt an extra layer was necessary :D

Note: Blue Blood stained my nails.

Number of coats: 2
Drying time: Really good
Finish: Linear holo
Overall impression: I like it! The colour is nice and the rainbows great. It’s prone to dragging though

Cupcake Polish ~ The Awareness Trio

Cupcake Polish ~ The Awareness Trio
Animal Rights, Mental Health and Depression

Today I am going to show you swatches of three Cupcake polishes. They’re all microglitters and they’re all Norway Nails store exclusives. I’m going to show you three pics of each polish: A daylight picture, a picture taken in the sun, and a picture taken in lower lights.

But first, let me show you what this trio is about:

The first one I’m going to show you is “Awareness: Animal Rights”. It’s described as hot orange with a lot of holo microglitter. That description is spot on, it’s hot orange for sure!

The formula is good and the polish is easy to apply. It took two easy and fast drying coats to achieve full opacity. No underwear was needed.

Here’s what it looks like in ordinary daylight. It’s amazing!!

The sunshine made the holo glitter go crazy. I love bling like this!

The low light picture shows the colour of the polish more. I dig it!

The second polish is “Awareness: Mental Health”. It’s a lime green polish packed with hologlitter. Lovely!

The formula is a bit more of a diva than “Animal Rights”. It is more prone to bald patches, and I needed three coats to make sure the nail didn’t peak through. Drying time is good.

The daylight picture shows that the microglitter demands to sparkle!

Here’s the sunshine picture:

Again: The low light picture reveals the true colour of “Mental Health”.

I consider to layer this next time, mostly to save the precious drops of polish :D

I saved my favourite of the three till last: “Awareness: Depression”. It’s grass green glitter with holo microglitter.

The formula is just like “Animal Rights”, so two coats is what it took to get rid of all visible nail line. Good drying time too!

This one is just as sparkly as its sisters; here’s the daylight picture to prove it:

The sunshine picture is here. The sparkles made my camera go crazy, haha!

This low light picture reveals the true colours of “Depression”.

General verdict:
These are all great glitters. The formula is good – I don’t know why one of them has a different formula, but oh well. It is what it is *shrugs*
The sparkliness in this trio is amazing, and it’s also quite remarkable how different they look in different lightings. I love all three of them, but the grass green “Depression” is my favourite, both colour- and formula wise.

Number of coats: 2 (and 3)
Drying time: Good
Finish: Jelly with holo microglitter
Overall impression: Great polishes all of them!
Buy again: Yes!

Anonymous Lacquer ~ Ruby Baby We Miss You

Anonymous Lacquer ~ Ruby Baby We Miss You
Ruby red/dark fuchsia linear holo

Today’s polish nearly blew my socks off! Oh Em Gee what a beauty!! Swoon-material!!

Did I catch your attention? Good!

First a little bit about the polish. The formula is good and it’s practically a one coater. I applied two but the difference between one and two coats wasn’t noticeable to me. The drying time is good too.

So ladies, hold onto your hats, hold onto your socks! Here’s two coats and a layer of Poshé topcoat taken with flash:

Wow, right? Here’s another one! My socks are already off, haha!

It’s extremely pretty in low lights too!! <3

I stamped on it. I chose an “open” design on Moyou London’s stamping plate Fashionista Collection-13. I stamped with Essie’s Blue Rhapsody from the Mirror Metallics collection. It’s an amazing collection for stamping!!

Here’s my final result with flash:

And here’s the low light picture:

“Wow!”, that pretty much sums it up for me!

Number of coats: 2 but 1 was enough
Drying time: Good
Finish: Linear holo
Overall impression: I’m seriously impressed. What a beautiful polish!

LynBDesigns ~ Ragdoll

LynBDesigns ~ Ragdoll
Purple with blue/green microflecks

Ragdoll is from the The Nightmare Begins from winter 2013. All the polishes in that collection is based on characters from The Nightmare Before Christmas of Tim Burton.

Ragdoll is easy to work with, but she does require three coats to look her best. Drying time is good.

Take a look at three coats and no topcoat:

I wanted some bling today, yay! I made three gold dots by the base of each nail; I used Betty Boop “Glam” for that. Then I applied a layer of glitter! Did I mention that I love glitter? Well, I do. I used Pahlish’s “The Dust Witch” for that. When that was dry I applied a layer of topcoat, and here’s my final mani:

I love the way these polishes work together!

The polishes I used:

What do you think? Is this a go? :)

Ragdoll is discontinued. I don’t mind at all.

Number of coats: 3
Drying time: Good
Finish: Crelly with microflecks
Overall impression: This is special because of the colour scheme.

Anonymous Lacquer ~ Electric Cotton Candy & Grape Laffy Taffy

Anonymous Lacquer ~ Electric Cotton Candy & Grape Laffy Taffy
Purple linear holo & Pink linear holo

I am still so thrilled over the fact that I got water marbling to work, so I decided to try again today – basically to test if I’ve actually cracked the code, or if it was just a one hit wonder a couple of days ago.

I thought I’d try with a couple of holos this time. These two beauties are my first Anonymous Lacquers and they’re both special: Electric Cotton Candy is a Facebook group custom and Grape Laffy Taffy is a Facebook group exclusive. Not bad, huh? :D

I pre-painted my middle fingers with a white base, namely NailNation 3000’s White. My pinkie has got two layers of Grape Laffy Taffy and the pointer has got two layers of Electric Cotton Candy. They both have a great consistency and a good drying time.

Let me show you the final mani before I talk about the marbling:

The polishes needed a bit of help to spread out; I swirled the glass a little bit in between and that helped a lot. They did separate a bit though, so the white peaks out here and there. But all in all I am satisfied with this!

This is a daylight picture, no sun. The rainbows are still active!

I bought a couple of other Anonymous Lacquers as well, and I’ll show you those shortly!

Number of coats: 2
Drying time: Good
Finish: Linear holo
Overall impression: Great polishes both of them

Flormar ~ GS12 Tile

Flormar ~ GS12 Tile
Red with golden shimmer

I bought this beauty when I was in Turkey, but only on the third time I was in the Flormar shop! :D Why? Because it looks really lovely but it contains golden shimmer, and I’m usually more into silvery shimmers! But in the end I had to give in and take it home with me.

The formula is great and easy to work with. I applied two coats for the mani and the drying time is good. It dries up to a satin matte finish (hence the “Satin Matte” on the bottle, probably).

Here’s what two coats and no topcoat looks like in the sun.

I applied silver glitter. I used “Confetti Kisses” from H&M. The bottle has got Mickey and Minnie Mouse on it, it’s sooo cute.

Here’s what it looks like in my lightbox:

And then I stamped on it. I found a giraffe-ish pattern motif on stamping plate DRK-A. I stamped with Black from NailNation 3000.
Here’s my final mani:

I’m glad I ended up buying this, I think it’s really pretty.

Number of coats: 2
Drying time: Good
Finish: Satin matte shimmer
Overall impression: Good polish to a really good price

Glam Polish ~ Timeless to Me

Glam Polish ~ Timeless to Me
Red scattered holo

Timeless to Me is from the Hairspray collection from January 2015.

The formula is good and easy to work with. I applied two coats for full opacity, but this can easily be a one coater if you’re careful when you apply the polish. The drying time is pretty good.

Here’s how beautiful she looks in the sun:

It’s also beautiful in low lights:

I kept it simple and just applied a couple of flower stickers onto the nail on my ring finger and sealed it up with a layer of topcoat. Here’s my final mani:

Uh, I love this, it’s fantastic!

Number of coats: 2 but 1 could be enough if applied carefully
Drying time: Good
Finish: Scattered holo with flecks
Overall impression: Great colour, great finish, great quality!

Julie G ~ Sugar Plum Fairy & Under Mistletoe

Julie G ~ Sugar Plum Fairy & Under Mistletoe
Purple glittery texture & Christmas tree green shimmer

I received these two polishes in a swap about a year ago. I actually thought that they were both textured polishes, but it turned out that it’s only the purple one that is – the green is a regular shimmer polish.

I ended up with this mani:

Sugar Plum Fairy is a one coater, so I’m only wearing one coat of that. Under Mistletoe requires two coats for full opacity. Both polishes have an average drying time.

The silver is from Essence and is called Glitterastic. I made three dots on the purple, but they drowned a bit in the glittery purple :D

Here are the polishes I used:

I don’t think I’ll keep any of the Julie G polishes, they just don’t tick the right boxes for me.

Number of coats: 1 for the purple, 2 for the green
Drying time: Average
Finish: Glittery texture / Green shimmer
Overall impression: I feel a little bit “meh”

Glam Polish ~ I’m through with Love

Glam Polish ~ I’m through with Love
Grape purple with holo effect, micro glitter and glass flecks

I’m through with Love is from the Diamonds are a girl’s best friend collection from summer 2014. It was sold out at first when I wanted it, but fortunately I found it eventually, phew. The entire collection is inspired by Marilyn Monroe, and I happen to be a big fan of hers.

The formula is good and easy to work with. I used two easy coats for my mani and the drying time is good. I applied a layer of topcoat before I took the first photos.

Two coats and a layer of topcoat in the sun:

Isn’t the sparkle just amazing? I love it!

Here’s how pretty the colour is in lower lights:

I decided to play with some water decals I bought cheap on Aliexpress. They’re not super easy to work with, but I managed to get them onto all ten nails without making too much of a fuss. I sealed the whole thing up with another layer of topcoat, and here’s my final mani in the sun.

The decals were way more subtle than I imagined, but they are visible in lower lights, haha!

I’m though with Love is such a beauty, I love it. And I’m definitely going to play more with the decals I bought, it’s a fun and relatively easy way to decorate the nails.

Number of coats: 2
Drying time: Good
Finish: Holo with microglitter and flecks
Overall impression: Great colour, I love the sparkliness of the polish

Zoya/Sephora X/Savina watermarble

Zoya/Sephora X/Savina watermarble
- it finally worked!!

Let me tell you right away: I’m totally excited! Why? Because I finally made a watermarble that actually worked! Wow, right? I must admit that I considering just giving up; I just couldn’t crack the code, no way Pedro. Then a girl in a Danish Facebook group mentioned that she got her best results when she used a cola can as the container for it. It never occurred to me that the container actually made a difference. Until now I only tried in a glass, but today I tried in a regular plastic cup, the ones for coffee and stuff :D

And it worked!! *bounces around happily*

Take a look:

I can’t express how thrilled I am!

The polishes I used:
Purple: Sephora X “Pedal to the Metal”
Green: Zoya “Giovanna”
White: Savina “Fantasy Files”

Here are the pretties I used:

I had the usual trouble with clean up even though I taped my nails before dunking them into the water. Oh well. You can’t win them all, can you!

Now that I finally cracked the code I shall try with more colour combos!
