Femme Fatale ~ Burning Dusk

Femme Fatale ~ Burning Dusk
A dark plum linear holo with blue shine

I have been looking at Burning Dusk for a very long time. And when I finally got it, it was much more spectacular than I even imagined. Yay!

The formula is really good; this is a quality polish for sure. The coverage is great too – it was almost opaque after the first coat, and the second coat created pure perfection. Drying time between the coats is cool too.

And Burning Dusk is a fantastic polish. Let me show you what the fuss is all about. Sweet ladies, here is two coats and no topcoat, the pic is taken in the sun:

Mmm… plum and blue mixed with some red from the holo flame. I’m in love!

I mean… take a look at them rainbows!!!

The polish is also really pretty in lower lights. Here’s what that looks like:

I grabbed Ozotic 609 and made dots in groups of three on each nail. Ozotic 609 is holographic silver, perhaps the prettiest silver I own. Here’s a sunshine pic for you:

And a low light picture:

There’s nothing I don’t like about this polish, that’s all there is to say.

Number of coats: 2
Drying time: Fast
Finish: Holo with blue shine, great mix!
Removal: No worries.
Overall impression: I love everything about this polish. A winner for sure!
Buy again: Yes

Ozotic ~ 621

Ozotic ~ 621
Red scattered holo

I can’t believe there’s only five days till Christmas! It’s amazing how fast December went!

What is more Christmassy than a lovely red polish glittering with a scattered holo effect? That’s my kind of Christmas red for sure – and Ozotic 621 is exactly that!

I’ve shown it here before, but it’s beautiful enough for a re-visit in my opinion. Two easy, fast drying coats, and man, this baby can really shine! The holo shines from deeply within even in low lights – it’s an amazing polish for sure! No need for an aqua basecoat – I just used my regular one without any problems whatsoever.

Look at how two coats, and no topcoat shines:

I am totally and utterly in love with this red. If I could only keep one of my reds, this would probably be it!

My nails are ready for Christmas now, and so am I!

I wanted even more Christmas on them though. And I wanted to be a bit more creative than “just stamping”. I taped two of my nails across and painted a green stripe across with Zoya’s Logan, a lovely green Christmas shimmer. I freedhanded white lines around the green line. I dapped a bit of Nubar’s White Polka Dot on the tip of my pinkie, and then I found some nice Christmassy designs on Moyou London’s stamping plate Christmas Collection-03. I used Sally Hansen Insta Dri Whirlwind White.

Here’s the first four fingers:

And here’s a last pic, where you can also see the candy canes on the thumb.
There’s no topcoat on my middle finger and my thumb, because 621 is a bleeder, and when the topcoat applies, she turns the white stamping polish pink.

Here’s the collection of polishes I used:

Chaos & Crocodiles ~ Squee

Chaos & Crocodiles ~ Squee
Pink, purple, and blue translucent neon hexes; matte hot pink, purple, and turquoise stars and hexes; and pink, purple, blue, and aqua shimmer in a clear base. Crikey!

Yesterday I showed you Ozotic’s scattered silver holo on its own – see that post here. I was a tease and kept you hanging – you knew I would never wear a silver polish on its own, holo or not! Yes, you did! So, what did I do with it? I used it as a base for a glitter polish: Chaos & Crocodiles “Squee”.

Squee is packed with glitter in various colours, shapes and sizes and it’s meant to be worn over another polish. And how better to show off all its colours and shapes than wearing it over a pretty silver? I know, right? :)

Take a squint at what Squee looks like:

What you see on each nail is the result of just one dip in the bottle. Yes, I did have to push the glitter around a bit to arrange it on the nails, but seriously: It’s totally worth the extra work!

I have always claimed that I wasn’t fond of big glitters, but it looks as if Chaos & Crocodiles can do something special with their glitters that I really like, because I simply love this!

The glitter itself doesn’t dry completely flat, so I applied a layer of Gelous and then a layer of Poshé topcoat to make this present itself the in prettiest way:

I probably took way too many pics, but I really want to show how pretty this is!

The silver holo underneath compliments this glitter really well. I went through a lot of base colours in my head, from black over burgundy to grey – and I’m so pleased I ended up with silver.

Burgundy actually wasn’t a bad choice either. I tried that on a nail wheel and it definitely works. It does tone down some of the translucent glitters though, and I didn’t want to do that in a review.

Alright, that’s enough pictures for now! It was hard to turn the camera off though, haha!

This is my second Chaos & Crocodiles (see the other one, “Bwahaha” here), and I’m very impressed. I thought I had all the glitter toppers I needed, but it seems that C & C have changed that idea.

Ozotic ~ 609

Ozotic ~ 609
Silver scattered holo

Ozotic! A brand I’ve come to love! Great holos and duochromes, great colours and formulas.

609’s formula is great, although a little sheer for my own tastes. I was almost satisfied after two coats, but I gave it an extra coat to build it up to full opacity. The drying time is good, and the glitter particles dry up completely flat. And I know that this is “just” a simple silver holo, but man, it’s pretty!

Allow me to show you three coats and no topcoat:

See how it looks when I blur the picture a bit! Rainbows showing off! :D

These pictures are taken in the sunshine, and I just love the way the glitters sparkle!

I think this picture proves that it isn’t just another silver holo. It’s like living metal on my nails.

Are you just as happy to see rainbows as I am? I hope I’ll never get enough of rainbows!

And here’s one last shot of it because this just became my favourite silver holo.

There are only so many words to be said about silver as a colour, but Ozotic never fails to impress me formula-wise. As with their other offerings, this product ticks all the boxes – colour, quality of formula, drying time and finish.
Excellent. That all spells ‘Yes’ to me J

I’m sure this can also be used as a silver holo topcoat, if you add a thin layer over other colours. And there’s another thing: It’s the perfect base for nail art and other interesting ideas. Of course, you know that I didn’t keep it like this – but you’ll have to wait until tomorrow to see what I did with it! ;)

Ozotic ~ 617 and 624

Ozotic ~ 617 and 624
Aqua blue with holo particles & Purple with holo particles

Today I’ve got two lovely Ozotic polishes to show off! I couldn’t decide which one to wear, so I ended up with both, yay!!

It takes two coats for both of them to look really cool. I used my regular base coat, and it required a pretty light touch not to drag the polish off again – so I think I’ll try with my aqua base coat next time I wear these. Drying time is really good, and the polish dries up smooth and nice. And I had sunshine!!

Take a look, two coats, no top coat:

And another picture to show more rainbows!

I love the way the purple seems to glow from within. It reminds me a bit of a couple of other polishes I’ve got (Linda Johansen Razzle Dazzle and Zoya Aurora), so I might make a comparison post at some point.

I didn’t want to cover all this prettiness up too much, so I went for a simple dotticure. I made three dots on each nail with Golden Rose Holiday #60, which is a black textured polish with silver glitter in it. I sealed it all up with a layer of Depend topcoat, and here’s my final mani:

Simple and pretty – just the way I like it.

And here are the fantastic polishes I used:

I think I may need more Ozotics in my collection, because I’ve become a huge fan over the last couple of months. Great formula, great drying time, cool colours and finishes. The only minus is the price - they’re on the expensive side of nice for sure!

What’s your verdict, girls? Do you like this as much as I do?

Ozotic ~ 505

Ozotic ~ 505
Multichrome that shifts between green, purple, pink, blue and golden

Here’s another one of my beloved Ozotic polishes. I don’t think I’ve ever seen polishes that have as dramatic colourshifts as Ozotic has. Let me show you what I’m talking about! I started out with one layer of Essence Black is Back, because 505 shows its fullest potential over dark polishes.

After that I applied one layer of Ozotic 505, and waited for it to dry. Drying time is pretty average. The colour shift is amazing! It took me a while to figure out how to capture is best on camera though. I didn’t have any luck in my light box, and the sun had just gone down. I ended up in the bathroom! It’s not the first time I’ve taken my nail pictures there, haha!!

Enough talking – here are the pictures! One coat over black:

If this isn’t amazing, then I don’t know what is!

I think it almost looks as if I taped my nails as painted them teal and a purple.

The polish shifts between green, purple, pink and has actually got some golden in it too.

When I tilt my fingers like this, you’ll be able to see the golden green this polish also has:

This polish is nothing less but a gem. I’m totally thrilled over the colourshift, which is much more prominent in real life than I was able to catch on camera.

Are you also into colourshifting polishes, or do you prefer one colour at a time?

Ozotic ~ 621

Ozotic ~ 621
Red scattered holo

Ozotic could easily become a member of my top ten list of polish brands I love. This time I’m trying on a red, scattered holo, because I fancy red and because the sun was out to play, hurrah!

So – I just used my regular base coat, and that caused me absolutely no trouble at all. Two easy and fast drying coats and my mani was done! There’s no top coat on the two first pictures, so take a look at how pretty this is!

I really like this second pic because it shows how pretty this holo is in the sunshine:

I gazed at it for half an hour or thereabouts, trying to figure out what to do with it. You know I hardly ever wear a polish on its own, but holos are really a challenge for me nail art wise, because they’re so pretty in themselves. :)

I went for a couple of simple stripes, like racing stripes on a red, fancy car. I used my black striper from Claire’s and made two parallel stripes on each nail. I topped it with Poshé top coat (Oh Poshé, how I love thee!!) and hurried to take these last pics while the sun was still out:

And a last one, because I love a good, red holo that is also pretty outside of the sun:

I am totally in love with this! Simple and yet pretty, that’s how I like my nail art!

What do you think? Are you also a holomaniac like me?

Ozotic ~ 529

Ozotic ~ 529
Colourshifting glitter in a clear base

I’ve been aware of Ozotic polishes for a long time, but it’s only recently I got my hands on some of them myself – I swatched my first Ozotic in this post, and 529 is my second. I got #529 from one of the girls in my birthday group, namely sweet Marianne. #529 is a colour shifting glitter that is meant to be layered over something. I decided to be boring and layer it over black, mostly to see what this polish is really about. I used Essence Black is Back as underwear. It’s my all time favourite black crème because it’s easy to apply, it dries fast and it’s a one coater.

Then I applied two layers of Ozotic 529. The drying time is pretty average. I was in a hurry, so it felt as if it took forever - but in reality it was just an average drying time :D

I applied one layer of Catrice Quick Dry & High Shine topcoat, and here’s what it looked like:

The glitter shifts between blue, purple red and orange.

I love this colour shift! I’m definitely going to try it over a variety of base colours!

I didn’t do anything with this, but that’s mostly because I didn’t have time for it. Next time I’ll try to come up with some really cool nail art.

So – are you girl Ozotic fans or do you think they’re highly overrated? :)

Ozotic ~ 506

Ozotic ~ 506
Multichrome that shifts from blue to pink to golden to purple

This is my first Ozotic, so I didn’t quite know what to expect, other than I’ve seen beautiful swatches on the Internet. It was easy to see that this polish isn’t meant to be worn on its own, but over a dark base. So I painted all my nails black. I used my faithful Essence “Black is back” for that purpose. It’s a one coater and dries fast, and is therefore my favourite black.

Then I applied two coats of Ozotic over the black, and man! Total awesomeness revealed itself before my very eyes.

Here’s the sight that met me first – a stunning blue:

There’s no top coat on the pics here! I twisted my fingers a little bit, and purple joined the party:

I found a better lamp, and take a look at this:

I twisted my hands and fingers, and I must admit that I was amazed over how pretty this polish is.

It shows mostly blue and purple, but sometimes also teal and golden. I couldn’t catch that on camera, so these pics will have to do :)

I obviously didn’t leave them on their own, LOL, but I was gentle!

I made three little stripes on each nail with Layla Hologram Effect’s “Retro Pink”, and sealed it all with BK top coat.

The last pic is in my lightbox, that’s why the holo doesn’t pop, but it’s to show you that multichrome and holos are great together. When one of them doesn’t pop, the other one does!
