Too Fancy Lacquer: Here Here We're 2!

Too Fancy Lacquer: Here Here We're 2!
Purple linear holo

Today I'm wearing a beautiful purple linear holographic polish from Too Fancy Lacquer. I am not quite sure how old it is, but let me put it this way: It's not new.

The formula is really good and super easy to work with. I used two coats for full opacity. The drying time is good.

The pink stamp is from the stamping plate "Marianne Nails No. 13". I stamped with a baby pink stamping polish from Born Pretty Store. It hasn't got a name, but it's number 39.

I made a thin stripe of white/silver glitter down the middle of each flower on the nails. I used Moyra's "Elise" for that.

This is the final result including a layer of topcoat. The photo is taken in the sun.

I think this is really pretty.

Here's "Here Here We're 2!" alone; two coats and no topcoat.

And here are the things I used today.

I haven't seen Too Fancy Lacquer for a really long time, so I don't think they're around anymore. What a shame. She made really beautiful polishes!

Too Fancy Lacquer ~ Peacock Parade

Too Fancy Lacquer ~ Peacock Parade
Peacock green linear holo

I haven’t bought Too Fancy polishes for ages. It’s not because I don’t like them, because I love the ones I’ve got. But there was a time where they weren’t that easy to get your hands on and I don’t like it when it’s not easy to shop. I just looked at their website and it looks as if it’s back to being easy to spend money there now, so who knows: I might get back to buying the lovely polishes.

Peacock Parade has got a great formula and the polish covers in two easy and fast drying coats.

I had no sun, but the rainbows aren’t shy. This picture is taken in ordinary daylight.

And this is taken in the shade.

I made a Studicure (I made up a word, hooray!!). I applied studs by the base of each nail. Three on the middle and the ring finger – they symbolise the feathers of a peacock. The heart studs on my pinkie, my pointer and my thumb are because I love peacocks.

This is a daylight picture, no direct sun.

I love this studicure!

I like the colour of Peacock Parade, but I have a feeling that my bottle has faded. I google swatches of it and the pictures I could find all showed a darker version than mine. Click here to see my google search and see for yourself.

Number of coats: 2
Drying time: Really good
Finish: Strong linear holo
Overall impression: I love both peacocks and this polish :D

Too Fancy Lacquer ~ Silent Night

Too Fancy Lacquer ~ Silent Night
Charcoal grey linear holo

Yesterday I mentioned that I would try and use some of my oldest untrieds. Today I’m going to show you a polish from Too Fancy lacquer’s holiday collection from 2013! It’s grey, that’s why it has been sitting in the box for so long – I’m not a huge fan of greys. I believe this was one of the last Too Fancy polishes I bought. I love the ones I have but suddenly they were so hard to get your hands on, and then I lose interest. It shouldn’t be hard spending money, it is way better for business if it’s easy.

Anyway, back to Silent Night. The formula is really good and the polish covers in two coats. The drying time is really good.

So: two coats and no topcoat taken with flash:

The grey is warm toned. This picture is taken in the lightbox.

I double stamped on it. First I stamped with white – motif from BP-L 003. Then I stamped dragonflies and a Phoenix with black – motif from Bondlemunster BM-410. I topped it with topcoat and this is my final mani:

This picture is taken in ordinary daylight. The topcoat pulled a bit on my designs!

Silent Night isn’t my colour at all, but I ended up liking this. I haven’t quite decided if the polish gets to stay though :)

Silent Night was limited edition and is no longer available.

Buy again: No, it’s not my colour

Too Fancy Lacquer ~ Mesmerized

Too Fancy Lacquer ~ Mesmerized
Royal purple with holo shimmer

Mesmerized is from the very first Holo Grail box from March 2014, the one that was called Meet the Makers pt. 1. Like I mentioned earlier, I only bought the two first boxes. I thought each polish ended up way too expensive.

This gem was worth every brass razoo though.

The formula is great and this is a true one coater. Drying time is good too. So yes, Mesmerized is a gem for sure.

Here’s one coat in the sun:

Isn’t it just mesmerizing? :D

I decorated my nails with some decals I bought from Aliexpress because I love Monsters University! They have some kind of white background, unfortunately it’s not always trimmed, so it leaves a pretty big piece of white space around the decal. Check out my pointer if you don’t understand what I mean. After the decals were on, I applied a layer of Out The Door’s Northern Lights, I love that topcoat with holo microglitter!

I’m pleased with this even though the decals covered a lot of the pretty polish.

How are you with decals? Is it a go or a no go? I think it can be quite a challenge to find the cool ones.
