Orly ~ Summer Sunset

Orly ~ Summer Sunset
Pumpkin shimmer

Summer Sunset is from the Pacific Coast Highway collection from Summer 2016. It’s a Yellow-y orange with a shimmer that makes the polish glow!

I used two coats for full opacity, but girls with longer/bigger nails than mine might need three coats. The formula is a bit on the thin side, and the drying time is really good, even with richer coats.

I decided to use it for a dry brush/skull stud manicure. Take a look at the end result in the sun:

I really dig this colour combination! And the skull is just adorable!

Here’s two coats of Summer Sunset on its own. The shimmer in it is really pretty, and like I said: It makes the polish look like it’s glowing from within!

Here are the four polishes I used for my manicure:

Orly: Summer Sunset; Golden Rose Rich Colour: 45; OPI: Never Have Too Mani Friends; Lovely: Holo Top Coat

Number of coats: 2
Drying time: Pretty good
Finish: Crème
Overall impression: Great basic polish

Floss Gloss ~ Lavish

Floss Gloss ~ Lavish
Lavender crème

Here’s another one of my new Floss Gloss polishes. I’m quite impressed with the formula of these! I expected lavish to be a three coater because it’s a soft pastel. In reality I could have got away with one coat! I did apply a second coat to try to even out the irregularities I caused with the first coat :D The drying time is really good.

I made it into this mani:

The glitter I’m holding is #20 from Lovely. I bought it years ago on a holiday. It’s a nice glitter. It smells awful though, but I’m willing to live with that.

The water decals are from Aliexpress and there’s a layer of topcoat over it all.

Here are the two polishes I used.

I’m not done showing you all the Floss Glosses yet :D

Number of coats: 2, but I could have got away with just 1 coat
Drying time: Really good
Finish: Crème
Overall impression: I’m seriously impressed by the formula!

Lovely ~ Summer Sand #5

Lovely ~ Summer Sand #5
Light blue texture with darker blue shimmer

Here’s a mani I made to try out a couple of polishes. The blue is #5 from Lovely’s Summer Sand collection. The formula is good and so is the coverage. I used two coats for full opacity and the drying time is okay.

The polish on my ring finger is “Stir in Sugar” from Cuccio. It’s a white jelly topper with iridescent glitter and textured effect. I thought it would be a polish that worked on its own, but after three coats it looked really weird. I topped everything with a layer of topcoat because that tends to make everything better.

The blue shimmer in #5 doesn’t make a big deal out of itself on the nails unfortunately. The textured effect isn’t very prominent, which is a good thing in my opinion :D

I actually tried the Cuccio over a dark colour and it does overwhelm the underlaying colour quite a lot, but I do like the effect of it. I’m not quite sure how to actually use that polish.

Number of coats: 2
Drying time: Okay
Finish: Texture with shimmer
Overall impression: I wish the shimmer showed itself more. The colour is pleasant though
Buy again: Probably not
