Sinful, Revlon and Wycon in a dry marble manicure

Sinful, Revlon and Wycon in a dry marble manicure
Magenta, purple and silver holo glitter

Today’s manicure is an attempt to practice my dry marble skills. I would also like to water marble more, but the big advantage of dry marble is that you can use glitter as well; and I love glitter!

I used these three polishes:

Sinful Colors: Real Regal, which is a beautiful magenta shimmer
Revlon: Showtime, a dark shimmery purple
Wycon: #25, a mix of silver and holo glitter in various sizes

I ended up with this manicure:

I really like these colours together. Plus I was very careful when I cut the polish to fit the nails, in order to make clean up easier. That worked quite well today!

This is how the dry marble looked before I cut it into nail sized bits and attached it to my nails.

Here are the three pretty sisters I used. I love all three of them!

I think this turned out really well – I am so pleased with the result. I hope you like it too! :)

Dark Blond ~ Imperial Blue

Dark Blond ~ Imperial Blue
Medium blue crème

It has been a while since I used my silicone mat last, and I was in the mood to do a dry marble.

I used blue and white for my mani. I started out with a big layer of white. Then I made some drops in the white with the blue, and then some drops of white and blue alternately. Finally I made a marble, using my dotting tool to create the effect. I let it dry overnight – painted my nails with a layer of Imperial Blue, and then I was ready to attach the marble decals I made. I cut them into appropriate bits with a small scissor, and then I attached them to my nails. I topped it all with a layer of Northern Lights holo glitter topcoat from Out the Door.

Here’s the final mani taken in ordinary daylight, no sun.

I don’t think I should have let the decal dry overnight because it was a little bit stiff and difficult to get to stick onto the nails. I do like the end result though.

Here’s a picture of my big marble decal on the silicone mat.

And these are the polishes I used. The white polish from W7 is just called “White” and it’s not a very good white. It doesn’t cover very well on its own, but it’s okay for nail art like this.

The Imperial Blue from Dark Blond is a two coater. Easy to work with, okay drying time.

I have seen videos where girls do this kind of nail art directly on their nails. I have tried that but that was the worst mess ever so I’m not going to do that again. What about you – do you ever do dry marble manicures yourself?

Number of coats: 2
Drying time: Average
Finish: Crème
Overall impression: Pretty colour, okay quality for a relatively cheap polish
Buy again: Yes

Golden Rose ~ #21, #39, #48 - in a dry marble

Golden Rose ~ #21, #39, #48
Red crème, turquoise shimmer, yellow shimmer

I thought it was long time since I used my nail art mat for anything so today I did a dry marble.

I used three polishes I bought in Poland; a red, a turquoise and a yellow. I made a few dollops of each colours on the mat and used a tiny brush to make my marbling. I let it dry for a while before I topcoated it. Then I let it sit for a little longer before I applied it onto my nails.

Here’s what it all ended up looking like:

Oh yeah, I forgot to mention that I applied a layer of Out the Door’s Northern Lights holo glitter topcoat over it all to make it shine more.

Here’s what the mani looks like in low lights.

These are the four polishes I used.

I must admit that I find it very messy to make these manis and I’m not happy with the clean up either. It looks soooo easy when I watch other girls do it on Youtube, but it doesn’t work quite that easy for me. I was happy with the end result though and I do love these colours together.
