Dark Blond ~ Imperial
Blue
Medium blue
crème
It has been a while since I used my silicone mat last,
and I was in the mood to do a dry marble.
I used blue and white for my mani. I started out with
a big layer of white. Then I made some drops in the white with the blue, and
then some drops of white and blue alternately. Finally I made a marble, using
my dotting tool to create the effect. I let it dry overnight – painted my nails
with a layer of Imperial Blue, and then I was ready to attach the marble decals
I made. I cut them into appropriate bits with a small scissor, and then I
attached them to my nails. I topped it all with a layer of Northern Lights holo
glitter topcoat from Out the Door.
Here’s the final mani taken in ordinary daylight, no
sun.
I don’t think I should have let the decal dry
overnight because it was a little bit stiff and difficult to get to stick onto
the nails. I do like the end result though.
Here’s a picture of my big marble decal on the
silicone mat.
And these are the polishes I used. The white polish
from W7 is just called “White” and it’s not a very good white. It doesn’t cover
very well on its own, but it’s okay for nail art like this.
The Imperial Blue from Dark Blond is a two coater.
Easy to work with, okay drying time.
I have seen videos where girls do this kind of nail
art directly on their nails. I have tried that but that was the worst mess ever
so I’m not going to do that again. What about you – do you ever do dry marble
manicures yourself?
Number of
coats: 2
Drying time: Average
Finish: Crème
Overall
impression: Pretty colour, okay quality for a relatively cheap polish
Buy again: Yes
The result is lovely, I got to try this!

DeleteI love manicures like this one! Yours came out great!
ReplyDeleteDry marble manicures are not my favorites but I love doing them on the matt, I can control it better :)
I feel the same! In fact, I've never succeeded with doing one directly on the nails. The mat is my friend :D
