La Bella Vernice ~ Sugar Plum Fairy

La Bella Vernice ~ Sugar Plum Fairy
Deep plum purple linear scattered holo

I’ve showed you both “Feeling Shameless” and “Rachel” – and today it’s time to show you the last of the three La Bella Vernice polishes I have, namely “Sugar Plum Fairy”. It’s from the recent “Pucker up Santa” collection.

The maker, Roni, describes it as a deep plum purple, with both linear and scattered holo effects. It’s as if it’s got a special shimmer to it too – and that shimmer makes it look fairy-ish to me! So Sugar Plum Fairy seems like the perfect name for this polish!

The formula was just great – I had no problems with application at all. It covered on the first coat! I applied a second coat to make sure to give it the best conditions to shine, but I’m not sure that it made any difference at all.

I applied a layer of Poshé topcoat before I took the pictures for this post.

Here it is, two coats and one layer of Poshé topcoat:

These pictures are taken in my lightbox. I like the dreamy, soft look this polish has got – even though I usually prefer more ‘in yer face’ polishes. I must admit that this is a very pleasant and calming polish.

I also think that it actually fits my skintone!

Here’s a picture taken under a light bulb. I don’t have any sun available, and I want to show you the holo!

Nice, isn’t it?
I made some simple stripes on it with a hot pink shimmer before I called it a day and concluded my mani was done:

And one final shot:

Verdict:
I really like purple polishes, and holos especially. I can’t wait to see this baby shine when the sun finally comes out to play! So yes, even though the colour is “calmer” than I’d normally pick, then I stick my thumbs up for this polish as well. The formula, the pigmentation and the drying time are all ticked in the “yes” box!

La Bella Vernice ~ Rachel

La Bella Vernice ~ Rachel
Hot pink with holo microglitter

Alrighty then, so here’s my second polish from La Bella Vernice.

The formula is really good, and the pigmentation is just great! It covers beautifully in one single coat!! But I couldn’t help myself – I applied two coats out of habit, and just because I like doing it. Drying time is very good, no problems to report with that either. All the good boxes ticked!

And seriously: I love this shade of ‘in yer face’ pink. The added holo glitter is a bonus, and a really nice one too!

Take a look at two coats and a layer of Poshé topcoat:

Isn’t that just pretty!

These pictures are taken with flash, so you can actually see the holo glitter.

Here’s a picture taken in my lightbox. It gets a more dreamy look in that light. I really fancy this picture!!

I stamped on it, using a stamping plate from Moyou London called Princess Collection-14. I stamped with a dark red Sally Hansen Insta-Dri polish called Wined up.

Here’s my final mani:

Oh yes, I dig this baby!

Verdict:
I’m impressed! Roni, the maker of La Bella Vernice, has definitely taken a huge step up the indie ladder! I love pretty much everything about this polish: The colour, the formula, the pigmentation and the drying time. Both thumbs are pointing up from me. Sweet as!

La Bella Vernice ~ Feeling Shameless

La Bella Vernice ~ Feeling Shameless
a purple to blue thermal polish with scattered holo glitter

I had forgotten that it is a thermal polish. It looks like a lovely purple with hologlitter in the bottle, and when I applied the first layer I thought: “Whoa, that’s thin and colourless”. The fact was, that the temperature of my fingers was warmer than it was in the bottle, so the polish turned light blue instead of the purple I could actually see in the bottle. It’s the second time around that this has happened, and I go doh@self every time! :D

The formula is good and so is the drying time. It took two coats to make this opaque. I didn’t experience any problems with dragging or dreadful stuff like that. I applied two layers of Feeling Shameless and a layer of Poshé topcoat over it. Then I went to my bathroom, turned on the tap and started taking pictures.

Warning: Wet fingers ahead, haha!

This is what the polish looks like when my fingers are really cold. Dark, lovely purple:

As my fingers warm up a bit, the tone and the colour of the polish changes:

And here’s what it looks like after I’ve had my fingers under warm water:

When my fingers start getting cold again, the colour starts changing back to purple:

Two times cold, one times warm:

I have cold hands most of the time, so this is what the polish looks like on me most of the time:

Verdict:
I actually think that this is the coolest thermal polish I’ve tried. Why? Because I like the two colours it changes between equally much! I even liked it so much that I kept it plain like that – I didn’t add any kind of nail art to it! Amazing, huh? So yes – Feeling Shameless is definitely a winner!

New kid on the block: La Bella Vernice

La Bella Vernice ~ Tana & Brooklyn
Light green with shimmer and holo microglitter & Pink with shimmer and holo microglitter

Let me introduce you to one of the new indie brands on the block, La Bella Vernice! I was impressed even before I actually saw the polishes. They were packed in a little box and there was a neat card too; take a look:

And here are the polishes out of the box. Promising, I must say.

I tried the green one first, Tana. A light shimmery green with holo microglitter. I do love a good shimmer! The formula was good, and it took two coats to achieve desired opacity. And I must admit that even though this isn’t usually the green I would go for, it does look pretty good on me (in all modesty, obviously!) Haha!

Here’s two coats with one layer of Poshé topcoat:

The sun wasn’t cooperative, so these pictures are taken with flash to make the holo microglitter show it’s pretty face!

I like the way the shimmer and the glitter look together!

Here it is from a different angle.

Let me show you the other polish, Brooklyn.

The formula was just as good as the first one. Pigmentation was even better, it was actually opaque in one coat! Amazing, eh? I applied a second coat to see if it made a difference, but it didn’t. I sealed it with a layer of Poshé topcoat, and here’s the final mani:

These pictures are also taken indoors and with flash.

It’s not a duochrome but it almost looks like it. Call it a polish with mani facets ;)

And one last picture, just because I like what I see:

The verdict:

These are great shimmer polishes, and I love the added holo microglitter. The polish applies easily and covers pretty good – the pink one is potentially a one coater. Drying time is average, not annoyingly slow and not gratifyingly fast.
