NailNation 3000 ~ Spring in Bloom

NailNation 3000 ~ Spring in Bloom
Lavender/purple/holographic microglitter

Sometimes indie brands disappear from the surface of the earth from one day to the next. That seems to have happened for NailNation 3000. She was gone for about a year from the end of 2016 to the end of 2017. Then in October 2017 she announced that she was back and that there would be a launch of new pretties soon. Since then: Nothing.

It’s a shame because she was a creator of many pretty polishes. I cherish the ones I have a lot!

I believe that “Spring in Bloom” was a “Customer Appreciation polish”, whatever that means. I am pretty sure I bought this in Summer 2015. It’s a lovely glitter.

The first coat comes on really sheer and for a moment I thought this was a topper. The second coat did the trick for me though, although girls with long nails would probably have to use three coats to cover visible nail line.

The accent nail is made with a water decal from Aliexpress. There’s a layer of Gel Effect top coat from Models Own over it all.

This first photo is taken in daylight, no sun or flash.

I believe that “Spring in Bloom” was limited edition but I’m not sure. Either way, the webshop is shut at the moment.

CND Creative Play ~ Orange You Curious

CND Creative Play ~ Orange You Curious
Bright orange shimmer

There was a time where I didn’t like orange polishes much. I realized that it was orange itself that was the problem; it was the shade of orange. Today I love orange polishes, but only if they stay clear of Autumn-y vibes.

“Orange You Curious” is bright and happy and as non-Autumn as they come.

The formula is good and easy to work with. I used two coats for full opacity and the drying time was good.

I ended up with a dry brush manicure. The blue I used is a stamping polish from El Corazón called “Blue Neon”. The white is “Angel with a Leadfoot” from OPI.

It’s topped with a layer of “Northern Lights” from Out the Door. It’s such a lovely holo glitter topper.

Here’s my manicure photographed in ordinary daylight, no sun.

This is “Orange You Curious” alone; two coats and no topcoat. Isn’t that just a lovely orange?

Here are the polishes I used today.

I love this shade of orange.

Number of coats: 2
Drying time: Good
Finish: Shimmer
Overall impression: Formula on the thin side but it covers really well in two coats. Great colour and shimmer.

Colors by Llarowe ~ Jitterbug

Colors by Llarowe ~ Jitterbug
Reddened hot pink prismatic holo flake with blue to purple Aurora pigment for added sparkle

Jitterbug is Polish of the Month for April 2018 and it’s an absolutely gorgeous dark hot pink polish.

The formula is great and the coverage is really good. I used two easy and fast drying coats for my manicure. I applied a layer of topcoat and that even enhanced the depth of the colour.

Here’s two coats and a layer of topcoat photographed with flash.

This is the same thing in ordinary daylight on a cloudy day. Isn’t it just a gorgeous colour?

The name made me think of this really old song with Wham:

Jitterbug was limited edition and is no longer available. I almost wanted to buy a backup bottle but I resisted.
