Emily de Molly ~ Scarlet’s Red

Emily de Molly ~ Scarlet’s Red
Bright pink/red jelly with red, hot pink and iridescent glitters in different shapes and sizes

Encouraged by the lovely Emily de Molly-polish I showed you yesterday, I moved on to another EdM, namely Scarlet’s Red, which looks really great in the bottle.

The formula is lumpy because of the big amount of glitter in the jelly. It’s quite hard to apply; it’s especially difficult to apply it nice and close to the cuticles! Drying time is slow, and we’re talking really slow. I applied three coats before I was satisfied with the coverage.

The finish becomes rough because of the many glitters and it takes more than one layer of topcoat to even it out.

Anyway – here’s three coats and a layer of topcoat:

The colour is amazingly vibrant, it’s really cool.

Do you like it?

The downside is that this never really dried on me. Next time I’ll try it over a matching colour and then just one coat. The good thing about that is that I didn’t experience any staining at all. I’ve seen a couple of bloggers mention that it stains, but I didn’t have this on for very long because it didn’t dry, so yay, I think. :D

Number of coats: 3
Drying time: Sloooow
Finish: Jelly with glitter
Overall impression: I love the colour. The formula and the drying time not so much.
Buy again: No

  3. Pretty colors but it looks kinda lumpy and not drying is not good. Unusual as EdMs are usually really good.

    1. I simple don't understand why it didn't dry, that's so odd. I only know EdM for good quality as well! :)

  4. It's weird how some polishes never seem to entirely dry - it's a pity, it's really fun and bright to looks at...

    1. I have a few polishes that have the same issue, but none of them are EdMs, so I'm puzzled :)
