Hi girls,
I have been meaning to write this post for a while,
but things kept getting in the way.
Here’s the decals I am going to show you:
Betty Boop!! I love Betty Boop. She’s sexy, seductive
and sweet! ♥
I figured that a girl like Ms. Boop would go for
glittery underwear. So I used Attitude “Scarlett Mistress” and Models Own
“Northern Lights” as underwear for her. Scarlett Mistress is a red glitter, and
Northern Lights is a holographic, very pale pink glitter.
Here’s what two coats of Northern Lights and three
coats of Scarlett Mistress look like, with one coat of NYC fast drying top coat
over:
I let that dry for quite a while while preparing the
decals. I cut out four decals, removed the transparent plastic that covered
them and put them into a bowl of water:
Then I let them soak for a little while, and when the
decals didn’t stick to the paper anymore, I picked them out of the water and
placed them onto my nails. It was relatively easy, but I needed to work a bit
fast. I was able to move them around on my nail to begin with, but all of a
sudden they were dry and stuck to my nails.
After having waited for a little while longer,
allowing the decals to dry completely, I sealed them up with another layer of
NYC top coat, and I was done:
Here’s a close up of my ring finger:
And here’s the weirdest hand pose ever so you can see
them both properly at the same time, LOL!
Here’s a pic of the polishes and the remaining decals:
Pros:
- Betty Boop! No stamp could ever make this as cool!
- Easy to use, even for beginners like me
Cons:
- You have to work relatively fast
- Price. This set of details cost US$6.39, which I find a bit pricey
These decals are definitely a win in my book!
These are very cute and you've picked the perfect polishes to go with them. Love them!
ReplyDeleteThank you so much. I just knew that they had to be glittery! :)
DeleteIt looks so good :)
ReplyDeleteI agree that Betty must be a glitter-girl.
Thanks a lot!! :) She's such a cutie, I love her!
DeleteHot nails - and I agree a hot price too - but a great alternative from time to time :)
ReplyDeleteYes, that's what I think too. And they have cheaper alternatives too :)
DeleteI used these before and loved them.
ReplyDeleteI do too, and there are still more left, yay! :)
DeleteVery cute!
ReplyDeleteThank you! :)
DeleteOhhh Betty Boop!!!!! I love love these!!!!! Perfect combo of polishes too :))
ReplyDeleteThank you so much - I just knew it had to be glitter! :) Betty Boop rulez! :D
DeleteI love these! I've been seeing a lot of nail art related posts with items from this store. I think I'm going to have to try a few. You are right that is a bit pricey but cute!
ReplyDeleteThere are cheaper decals on their site, so you can try those first :)
DeleteWhat cute result :)
ReplyDeleteThank you, I totally agree :)
DeleteThey looks so cute! :)
ReplyDeleteAww, I agree, I absolutely adore Betty Boop! :)
DeleteNice decals, but the glitters are even cooler!! :)
ReplyDeleteThank you! A girl cannot have too many glitters! :)
DeleteJust curious, but does your glitter polish dry smooth, or dry "rough"? I am just wondering how well they would work on rough vs smooth surfaces...
ReplyDeleteThey do look pretty cool though. The colors you chose compliment the decals wonderfully.
These two glitters dry up a little bit rough, but because this was my first attempt with water decals, I applied top coat before applying the decals. That obviously smoothed out the roughness. I only applied the top coat to protect the glitter though, so next time I'll try to apply them directly on the glitter. :)
DeleteWhat fun decals :). Love the glittery underwear xx
ReplyDeleteThe glitter turned out perfect for Ms. Boop, thank you. Xx
DeleteI haven't tried water decals because I thought they would be hard to place. But I might give them a try!
ReplyDeleteYou totally should. If even I can do it right the first time, so can you! :)
DeleteThese betty boop decals are so cute! I love the mani you paired with them. :-)
ReplyDelete~ Yun
I can assure you that Betty loved the glitter! :)
