Max Factor ~ Emerald
Dark green with
golden shimmer
with
NYX ~ Enchanted Forest
Clear base with
multisized green and holographic glitter and hexagons
I bought this mini bottle of green Max Factor polish
in Germany.
I was actually looking for another Max Factor that nail bloggers are going
crazy over at the moment, but it wasn’t there. So I picked this one up instead.
The formula is quite good, but I found it a bit tricky
to handle the very small brush. The handle is so short that I felt a bit
awkward when I tried to manoeuvre it around. But anyway – I managed to apply
two coats of the polish – and I also managed to flip the open bottle over and
the brush fell onto the carpet. Grrr!! Fortunately there was only polish where
the brush landed on the carpet and on my laptop, and we managed to remove it
from both. Phew.
So anyway, enough of the talking, here is the nail
polish. Two coats – no top coat yet:
I was in the mood for glitter so I dug out a long
forgotten NYX glitter, “Enchanted
Forest”.
Application was not very easy at all. The brush really pulled on the glitter, so I had to move the brush around and around on the nails afterwards to spread the glitter out. And I was only lucky enough to find four of the big hexagons – two for each hand. At least that was enough to make them match :)

Another thing about the NYX polish is that it smells
really bad. Like strong glue or something. I know that Kleancolor’s polishes
have that reputation but this particular NYX is worse!
I gave it two coats of “Enchanted Forest”
and a thick layer of a no name top coat and I was ready to rock.
Here’s the finished mani:
Do you like it? I’m getting more and more fond of
green polish.

I like the end result :-) I think I would struggle using the small Max Factor brush for proper manicures too but as the only one I have is Fantasy Fire and I only use that for layering, it doesn't really matter if my application is a bit messy ;-)
ReplyDeleteIt was a struggle for sure! And yes, it was Fantasy Fire I was after, but I didn't manage to find it. Tough luck, but I guess it wasn't meant to be right now then. :)
DeleteBeautiful greens, love the layering!
ReplyDeleteThank you so much. :) I really like it too.
DeleteLove the NYX glitters ontop, the green really stands out against the base.
ReplyDeleteNYX makes some great glitters for sure. :)
DeleteThat Max Factor is stunning, so bummed we don't have their polishes in the US anymore! Enchanted Forest looks amazing over it, such a fun chunky glitter!
ReplyDeleteI know exactly how you're feeling when you see polishes that you just can't get. Argh!
DeleteAnd thanks - I appreciate it. :)
That glitter is so fabulous!
ReplyDeleteIt can lighten up a dark polish for sure! :)
Delete=]
ReplyDeleteHiya Jane :)
DeleteLove the combo of greens! That is a great glitter on top! Stinky maybe, but worth it! =)
ReplyDeleteTotally stinky, yeah, but I love the looks of that glitter :D
