El Corazon Kaleidoscope ~ No. 5 and No. 10

El Corazon Kaleidoscope ~ No. 5 and No. 10
-      A gradient made with two blues from the brights collection :)

It has been a while since I made a proper gradient. I got some polishes from El Corazón Kaleidoscope’s Brights collection recently. They’re bright and they’re crèmes and perfect for gradients.

I started out with one layer of 05, which is the palest of the blue. The polish covers really well, I’m so impressed by these polishes. Then I made my gradient with the darker blue, 10. It worked really well, they are so easy to work with. I finished the whole thing with a layer of Northern Lights from Out the Door, I love that holo glitter.

Here’s my final mani taken with flash:

This picture is taken in low lights.

The pretties lined up:

I made a big mistake when I did this. I used Glitter Off basecoat by OPI. That’s usually a pretty good idea, but not when you’re doing gradients, water marbling or other techniques where you mask your cuticles with liquid latex. The latex gripped the Glitter Off and tried to pull the whole mani off, nail by nail :D Yikes!! That gave me some not so sharp edges, but never mind. It’s still pretty, and: You live, and you learn!

Number of coats: 2
Drying time: Really good
Finish: Bright crèmes
Overall impression: Fantastic polishes
Buy again: Yes!
