Rainbow made with markers

Rainbow made with markers

I’ve seen some pretty manis made with Sharpie pens. I have been wanting to try the method for a while, but Sharpies are relatively expensive here, and I haven’t been in the mood to spend a lot of money on something I might only do once or twice.

I decided to try with some generic no name permanent markers I bought recently. There were only eight colours in the pack, but that’s plenty to make a rainbow!

Take a look at how it went:

Do you like it? I love it!

I’m wearing a white polish underneath: El Corazón m&s-172, and the glitter on top is Orly’s “Shine on Crazy Diamond”.

Here are the things I used:

It’s probably not the last mani I do with these. It was great fun, easy to do and it looks nice (and quite cheap compared to ‘paying only for the name’ Sharpies).

Have you tried this method yet?

Method I used:
-      Paint nails with two coats of white nail polish
-      Apply one layer of topcoat
-      Draw on a silicone mat, dip a brush in rubbing alcohol, swipe the wet brush over the area you drew on, and paint your nail
-      Seal up with (glitter) topcoat

  2. It looks fantastic! Beautiful rainbow! And you`re right - sometimes it`s better to find a cheaper thing instead of paying for name.
