Icing ~ Text me later & Party Hardy

Icing ~ Text me later & Party Hardy
Text me later: Deep shimmery violet
Party Hardy: Clear base packed with magenta glitter

Icing is another “not so easy to get your hands on if you live in Denmark”-polish. I bought these two in a blog sale recently. They’re both really lovely colours, so I reckon the seller must have quite a lot of sweet polishes, in order to get rid of such good looking pretties.

Text me later is a lovely purple. It first reminded me of China Glaze’s “Senorita Bonita”, but looking at them both together made me see that the China Glaze isn’t as dark, and it’s got more of a red tone to it. The formula is lovely and the brush is really nice to work with. I applied two coats to reach full opacity, and the drying time was really good too! We like that :)

Here’s what that looked like without top coat:

Then I applied a coat of “Party Hardy”, which is such a cool magenta glitter. The application was really easy. The brush didn’t pull on the glitter, so it was easy to spread the polish all over the nails. I only applied one coat before I was happy with the mani.

Here’s what it ended up looking like, after having added a layer of Seche Vite top coat:

After having tried this glitter on, I actually think it’s possible to build it up to opacity on its own. My guess is that it would take three coats, and it dries up really fast, so that shouldn’t keep you back from trying.

I layered it over a dark purple because I wanted the magenta to pop, which I think it did, and I wasn’t in the mood to layer it over black.

Here’s a shot from a different angle. I thought it would be fun to play a bit with the angles so you could see both the nails and the name of the polish :D

What do you think of this layering? Do you think the purple underwear makes the magenta pop?

  3. In my opinion this is a perfect combination. I think with a darker or a lighter shade the glitter particles would not look so beautiful.
    Have a great weekend.
