OPI ~ Simmer and Shimmer
Clear base packed with
mostly blue, but also other colours of glitter
Okay – here’s another one of my OPI polishes. I begin to find it
difficult to keep saying that I am not an OPI fan. You could ask why do I keep
buying their polishes, if I’m no fan. But hey – they really can do something
with glitter, and I’m a huge glitter fan – so that’s why! Just because I generally don’t like the brand doesn’t
mean I’m gonna deny myself pretties if they can create them!
So, I got myself this Shimmer and Shimmer from the Burlesque Collection
from holiday 2010.
And here’s what I made with it:
It’s pretty, don’t you think?
Let me show you how I achieved this mani. I started out with two coats
of Golden Rose 106, which is a lovely shiny blue.
Then I applied one coat of Pure Ice “Oh Baby!” to add some more shimmer
to my mani. Oh Baby! is a great shimmer topper, that can be used to add that
little extra to many manis! Here’s that step:
See that extra depth? I like that!
Then I sponged on the Simmer and Shimmer on my tips. I’ve become really
fond of that technique. I like the glittery tips, so the original polish shows
itself at the top of the nail.
One coat of Seche Vite top coat, and I was ready to rock!
Here’s a pic from another angle:
And a bottle shot:
I must admit that I love this mani! How about you? Do you like the
sponged glitter tips as much as I do? Or do you prefer glitter on the entire
nail? Or no glitter at all? :D

Great combo! Love that OPI glitter *-*
ReplyDeleteThank you - I do too! :)
DeleteIt's a super pretty combination - and that blue is to die for!!
ReplyDeleteThank you so much, I appreciate it. I love that blue!
DeleteGreat gradient! Not having glitter on the whole nail seems to let it shine even more somehow.
ReplyDeleteThank you. That's a good point, actually, an very true. I hadn't thought of it that way before :)
DeleteWhat a coincidence! I was planning exactly the same - glitter tips - and exactly with the same polish, Simmer&Shimmer! :) I love your version a lot!
ReplyDeleteWow, that is so cool. I am looking forward to seeing your pretty version too! :)
DeleteThese blues are beautiful together! I love the Golden Rose!
ReplyDeleteGolden Rose makes such pretty polishes! :)
DeleteGorgeous! ^_^
ReplyDeleteThank you so much <3
DeleteI'm not a huge fan of OPI either-but I've bought a few recently! I think I"d like them more if they would change their brush-it's too big for me!
ReplyDeleteI actually like a big brush, but I'm usually not crazy about the formula. Plus many of them take forever to dry on my nails.
DeleteLoving this glitter gradient. And Blues are certainly a fave of mine lately!
ReplyDeleteI keep finding myself reaching out for the blue colours more and more. It's addictive, I think! :D
DeletePretty mani. Happy new Year :)
ReplyDeleteThank you and happy new year to you too :)
