Spell Polish ~ Tongue of Dog

Spell Polish ~ Tongue of Dog
Described as Periwinkle Blue duochrome with a strong Red-Violet color shift and tiny Pink sparkles

Here’s my last Spell Polish for now, Tongue of Dog. I might as well say right away that I don’t agree with the colour description. To me this is periwinkle for sure, but I don’t see any strong colour shift. Allow me to demonstrate in a moment.

The formula is good – Spell Polish has stepped up the Indie Ladder in my opinion, and that’s just great. It took two easy coats to make this opaque and the drying time is good.

Take a look at two coats and a thin layer of Poshé topcoat:

See? No strong colour shift and I don’t see pink sparkles either. And just for the record: I didn’t see them in real life either. But nonetheless: It’s a really pretty colour.

Here’s a flash picture. It reveals a few sparkles, but they sure look blue and not pink to me.

I decided to keep my nail art really simple. I dotted the tips of my nails with a funny polish I bought in Slovakia last year. It’s from Gabrially Salvete and it’s called Galaxy. Another layer of Poshé topcoat and my mani was done:

I quite like these two polishes together!

Every bottle of Spell Polish comes with a little card with a rhyme on. Here’s the card that came with Tongue of Dog:

I like. Do you?

  1. It really is pretty, but it's a pity the shift isn't stronger...
