Lacquester ~ Lime Lizard Larry

Lacquester ~ Lime Lizard Larry
Neon green subtle holo

I don’t very often try new indie-brands any more. Fact is that my collection has grown so much over the last four years that I find it hard to cope with other brands now. But I stumbled over Lacquester’s website recently and decided to give a few of them a go, you know, just because.

I bought three and Lime Lizard Larry is the first to shine on the blog.

The formula was a bit weird. It went on streaky and if I tried to go over the same place with the brush twice it got “lumpy”. I used two coats for my mani but when I look at the pictures I can see I should have used three coats instead. The second layer also went on streaky, it’s so seldom that happens! On the plus side: The drying time was good. :D

Here’s two layers and a layer of topcoat taken with flash:

This is a daylight picture taken in the shade. I love the colour!

I stamped a bamboo motif on them because I thought that would be appropriate. I found the motif on a Fauxnad plate and a I stamped with my faithful Black from NailNation 3000. Here’s my final mani taken with flash:

And here is the picture taken in the shade.

Verdict:
The formula seriously put me off. I can live with a streaky first coat. But the second coat should even it out, and it didn’t. I also wish that the holo effect was more in your face, this is a bit too subtle for such a great colour.

Have you tried Lacquester? If yes, what did you think of the formula? I hope the next one is better than this one :)

Number of coats: 2 but I should have used 3
Drying time: Good
Finish: Subtle holo
Overall impression: Weird formula but great colour
Buy again: Nope

  2. I love the color! Maybe this polish was the only one with a weird formula and you will like the other ones more. I haven't tried Lacquester though.
