Miyo ~ Venus

Miyo ~ Venus
Shimmery red with a coral tone to it

This is my second Miyo, and this one was also bought in Sweden. The shimmer attracted me, but the lighting in the shop must have been different than the lighting at home, because I certainly didn’t noticed the coral tone it has. I wouldn’t have bought it if I had noticed that in the shop. This is a problem with shops and ambient lighting – you can’t always see the true tones until you get into daylight.

Anyway - the formula is very nice and application was easy, and it did actually almost look like a one coater. Two was perfect though.

Here’s what two coats look like, without top coat:

I wanted to do an easy mani, so I went for a glitter gradient. I picked a new glitter from H&M called “Rooftop Party”. It’s a clear base with magenta and silver glitter. I am pretty sure that it’s meant for layering.

I sponged the tips, except for the ring finger, which I inverted and sponged on the base. I like the idea of sponging like that, but it didn’t quite work for me today.

The colours aren’t quite right together, the red isn’t my kind of red, and I couldn’t get the glitter to act like I wanted it to, so all in all it was a very disappointing experience.

I’m wearing a layer of Seche Vite top coat on the last two pics, btw.

What do you think of this? Would you have even thought of putting pink and coral-y red together?

  2. It's so disappointing when polishes turn out to be a different shade once you take them out of shops. I quite like this shade though and I think you'll get a lot of use out of it

    1. I was so surprised when I saw the polish at home. The lights in that shop must have been really misguiding.
But thanks - I'll see what I can do with it :)

  4. What a great combination! My quilting hobby has taught me that colors that might not seem to go together at first glance can work very nicely with each other.

    1. That's a very good point, and nature also seems to mix and match all sorts of colours, which is great!
