El Corazón Matte Effect ~ #141neon & #142neon

Matte neon yellow and orange

I don’t wear neons that often, but I do really like them. They’re real cool when you want something cheerful and bright to look at during the day. In fact, it’s hard to keep the old mince pies away from a good neon!

I feel for El Corazón’s yellow and orange, and today I’m going to wear them together.

I started out with the yellow. Yellows and I aren’t the best of friends; I often find them difficult to apply. #141neon is no exception. The first coat was really streaky. And I mean Streee.Keee. The second coat evened it out somewhat, but I had applied three coats before I was relatively happy with it. I applied a layer of topcoat, and that made it all come together pretty well. The drying time was good.

So here’s three coats and a layer of topcoat:

I paired it with #142neon, the orange colour. I made stripes across the nails with a striper brush. I topped the whole thing with another layer of topcoat, and here’s my final mani:

I think these two neons look really awesome together!

Drying time: Fast

Finish: Matte
Overall impression: Great neons!
