Summer Challenge Day 19: Galaxies
Galaxy nails seem to be extremely popular, and I understand why. They’re
so pretty, and can be made in so many ways! I’ve never ever done a galaxy mani
before, so I decided to ask for help to do this challenge. I asked sweet Alice Snow if she would be
willing to help me do my nails, and fortunately she said yes! Hooray!
I used Catrice’s “I wear my sunglasses at night” as my base. It’s a dark
crème full of microglitters in a variety of colours. I’m not as fond of it as I
should be, so I think I put it up for a swap after this :)
Anyway – here’s two coats of “I wear my sunglasses at night”, no top
coat:
I think it’s a nice base for galaxies. And then the fun began. Alice used these polishes:
Catrice: I wear my sunglasses at night, Essence: Style for
summernights, Sinful Colors: Folly, Flormar: 431, Essence: Gabriella, OPI: Last Friday night |
And after a lot of sponging and dapping and sponging again, and after sealing
it all up, first with a layer of OPI: Last Friday Night, and then with a layer
of Poshé top coat, my galaxy nails were done:
There are other Danish girls who made galaxy nails today. You should definitely
check their blogs out to see what they came up with.
Stay tuned the day after tomorrow - same bat time, same bat channel –
for water marbled nails! That’s the challenge I think will go wrong the most,
but we’ll see :)
hey if you want to swap it let me know! i want it - bad! email me at missymrobinson@gmail.com and lemme know what/where your wishlist is or what you want for it!
ReplyDeleteI'll write you an email when I get home tonight! :)
DeleteGreat galaxy mani, well done :)
ReplyDeleteThank you so much :)
DeleteYou did a great job. Galaxy manis are always so great :)
ReplyDeleteI own that Catrice polish, I like it though it is much more amazing in the bottle than on the nails, but as a black fan I couldn't get rid of it.
The problem is that I wear black so seldom, so if someone else will cherish it more than I have, then they should have the chance :)
DeleteAnd thanks - I appreciate the kind words. :)
I painted my nails only black for 6 years and I can't live without blacks :D
DeleteWow, 6 years, that's impressive. I love black, but I want something shiny or glittery over it :)
DeleteThis looks great!
ReplyDeleteDen Catrice lak minder lidt om Black knight fra Butter London - i hvert fald sådan som den ser ud i flasken :-)
ReplyDeleteFine negle du har fået lavet dér! :-)
Tak skal du have! :)
DeleteJeg har slet ingen Butter London lakker, så jeg har ingenting at sammenligne med, så jeg tror dig på dit ord :)
Well done! This mani looks very cool!
ReplyDeleteThank you, I really like it too!
DeleteLove it!!
ReplyDeleteThis is so beautiful!! I love galaxy manis, yours is one of my favorites!!
ReplyDeleteAwh, that's so sweet of you to think so. Thank you so much! <3
DeleteGorgeous! I haven't tried galaxy nails myself but I do like the look, especially the design you created! Well done :-) And good luck for tomorrow's challenge ;-)
ReplyDeleteThank you so much :)
DeleteAnd thanks once more, I'm going to need all the luck I can get ;D
Oh wow, your galaxy nails are pretty! I love seeing everyone's galaxy manis. Maybe one day I will be brave enough to try it myself. ;-)
ReplyDelete~ Yun
You totally should try it out, I'm sure it'll look great on you!!
DeleteIt is so sparkly and pretty! I like it! ^.^
ReplyDeleteThank you, I'm so happy that it turned out this nice :)
DeleteWOW.
DeleteI love galaxy nails!!!
ReplyDeleteMe too. I might try this again some day :)
Deletewow amazing! one of the best galaxy nails i have seen
ReplyDeleteAwh... That's so nice to hear, thank you! :)
