Music Challenge 1: Intergalactic (Beastie Boys)

Welcome to my October 2012 music challenge. I’ve been excited over this challenge for a month or so, and it’s good to finally get started. 

Here's what it's all about:

I haven’t picked any of the songs in this challenge particularly because I like them. I’ve picked them because I could see possibilities of interpreting them into nail designs. Whether the other girls decide to try and make the song come to life on their nails, or if they just let the title or the lyrics inspire them, I don’t know. But I do know that this song, Intergalactic, makes me wanna do galaxy nails. This is only my second attempt, and I even got help the first time. But this time I’m on my own!

I started out with two coats of Attitude’s “Night sky”. It’s a black base with silver glass flecks in it. It’s a really nice base for a design like this.

Here’s what two coats look like, no top coat yet: 

Then I started making my galaxies. I used an eyeshadow applicator for the job. First I sponged silver, then teal, then magenta. And then I topped it all with an iridescent glitter with stars.

Kiko: 277 and NYX: Pink Glitter
