Orly ~ Sparkle Holiday
2014 swatches
My picks
I love Orly
polishes, but it’s been a while since they made a collection that wowed me.
When I saw the first bottle shot of a polish from the Sparkle Holiday 2014
collection, I knew that here was a collection that I would love. There are six
polishes in the collection and I bought three of them.
The first one I’m going to show you today is Mirrorball. It’s a linear silver holo with silver holo glitter.
It’s an amazing polish for sure.
The formula is good and application was easy. I used two coats for the
swatches and am satisfied with how it looks. Drying time is average and that
goes for all the three polishes I’m about to show you.
Mirrorball, two coats, one layer of Essence Gel-look topcoat. The
picture is taken with flash:

I’m still wowed, I really dig this polish!

Look at how those holo glitters sparkle!

Here’s a low light picture. Nothing can keep the holo glitters from sparkling.

Verdict:
Oh yes, this is certainly a gem!
Next one up is Steal the
Spotlight, a teal green microglitter with an accent of pink glitters.
The formula is good and easy to work with. I used three coats for these
swatches. For everyday use two might be enough, but my camera sees every little
irregularity invisible to the human eye. Drying time: Average.
Here’s a flash picture of three coats of Steal the Spotlight plus one
layer of Essence Gel-look topcoat:

This one is actually prettier outside the flashlight. I guess the flash
makes the glitters freak out a bit too much for the camera :D
Steal the Spotlight |
I think it’s a great idea with the added pink glitters!
Steal the Spotlight |
Pretty, pretty, pretty…

Verdict:
Yes! I love both teal and glitter, so yes!
Yes! I love both teal and glitter, so yes!
The last one I picked was Explosion of Fun, a magenta base with
holographic red glitters. This one looks amazing in the bottle so I was looking
forward to trying this one.
The formula is not as easy to work with as the other two. The first coat
is extremely sheer, but the polish builds up nicely with the next coats. I used
three coats for my swatches. Drying time: Average.
So, here’s three coats and a layer of Essence Gel-look topcoat:

Those holographic red glitters are just amazing!

Mmm mmm mmm, that’s all I’ve got to say!

One last shot, just because I can:

Verdict:
I love this one too.
I love this one too.
Orly is back in my
game now, that’s for sure. I love these three polishes so much. Perfect for the
Holidays – and any other time you’re in the mood for something sparkly!
The three ones I didn’t buy are Tinsel, which is a red and green mix of bar glitters (ugh!), Bling, which is a lovely looking gold microglitter (but I don’t wear gold that often) and Glitterbomb, which is indeed a multicoloured glitterbomb (that I doubt I’d use more than once).
I have to say I do like all of these! They look so pretty :-)
ReplyDeleteI'm a huge fan too! :)
DeleteWOHOO - welcome to the discotheque, I feel like I'm a teenager again :D
ReplyDeleteHahaha, what a great thing! :D
DeleteThese are all very pretty! My favorite is Steal The Spotlight. I just love how the pink glitters peek through the teal base.
ReplyDeleteThe pink glitters are a really cool addition to the teal, I totally agree :)
DeleteI'm glad you've shown them as I don't have any of them and they are so pretty, all the three :) Nr 2 and 3 are my favourites.
ReplyDeleteYay! I love them all - I'm not sure I can pick a favourite :)
DeleteHaha I said nr 2 and 3 and I have Mirrorball, still wanting more ;) Mirrorball is gorgeous!
DeleteAhaha, I know that feeling! I always also want what I don't have :D
DeleteOooh I love them all but steal the spotlight is my favorite.
ReplyDeleteIt's such a cool collection, I'm so excited over it :)
DeleteIt's been a while since I've bought some Orly polishes too. I must check the rest of the collection. Mirrorball has just stolen my heart <3
