Smitten Polish ~ Penny
Dreadful
Coppery jelly with holo
microglitter
I’m moving a bit out of my comfort zone today – I’m not usually into
golden or coppery polishes. But you know, once in a while it’s great to try
something new. So I bought Penny Dreadful, knowing that a Smitten polish is
never bad quality.
I was right about that. The formula is great and the polish is almost
self-applying. I used two coats for full opacity, and the drying time between
the coats is good. Penny Dreadful needs a layer of topcoat to shine to the max,
so I applied that too. And joy! The sun was shining!!
Here’s two coats plus a layer of topcoat in the sun:
Look at how those holo microglitters sparkle! Amazing!
I actually think this looks pretty good on me. Score!
So I thought to myself: I’m already outside my comfort zone, why not
push is a bit further? I just received a golden striper polish in the mail, and
gold and copper go pretty well together, don’t they?
Mmm. I like it much more than I thought I would.
Verdict:
It’s not a secret that I’m a big fan of Smitten’s microglitter polishes.
This colour is not quite me, but it’s a great polish nonetheless. The formula
is great, drying time good and those microglitters sparkle like crazy. Yes – I
like it a lot!

ReplyDeleteI agree with, you definitely do! <3
DeleteUhm... I am not a fan of copper either. I'd have to wear it on me to tell you if I like it...
ReplyDeleteYes, sometimes a specific colour looks better on than expected, so who knows :)
DeleteI just love this one, sooooo beautiful. But I prefer this as it is. :-)
ReplyDeleteIt is amazing for sure. And it's cool enough without added nail art :)
DeleteThe color is rather special. But I like everything brown and coppery in autumn. Very nice!
ReplyDeleteThis would look so good on you!!

It is boring doing the same over and over again, so yes, stepping outside the zone can be fun :)
DeleteBeautiful! I think the holo really makes it!
ReplyDeleteThe holo gives a special glow, which I really love :)
DeleteWow that polish really looks good on you. I don't know why but your finished mani sort of reminds me of a beatle. It's fun to wear something different sometimes!
ReplyDeleteOoh, a beetle, that's cool, I really love the look of beetles. Thank you so much! :
DeleteI'm not so keen on this one, it is a little too brown for my liking! :-)
